Does “Liking” Lead to Loving? The Impact of Joining a Brand's Social Network on Marketing Outcomes

Does “liking” a brand on Facebook cause a person to view it more favorably? Or is “liking” simply a symptom of being fond of a brand? The authors disentangle these possibilities and find evidence for the latter: brand attitudes and purchasing are predicted by consumers' preexisting fondness for brands, and these are the same regardless of when and whether consumers “like” brands on social media. Cognitive and Affective Causes of Consumer Dissatisfaction With the Hospitality Encounter

Causality attributions, equity, and affection used to explain satisfaction have received special attention in the literature on dissatisfaction and complaining behavior. In this study we examine the contribution these three antecedents make to consumer dissatisfaction. A causal model has been constructed to examine the effect of these variables on dissatisfaction in a sample of 345 individuals who have had an unsatisfactory experience in a restaurant. The results show that attributions, inequity, and negative affections have a significant, direct and positive influence on the level of dissatisfaction, with attribution as the most influential explanatory variable.

This study examines factors that explain the creation of university spin-offs. The study focuses on mechanisms that technology transfer offices (TTOs) and universities employ to foster spin-offs. These mechanisms include technology transfer activities that support spin-offs, normative frameworks, support infrastructures (i.e., business incubators and science parks), and TTO staff's specialist technical skills. Factors contributing brand attitude in advergames: Entertainment and irritation

The main contribution of this article is to offer new insights into the antecedents of brand attitude in an advergaming context, focusing on entertainment and irritation as its main drivers. Also, the indirect effect of intrusiveness and congruence on brand attitude is analyzed. A structured questionnaire was completed by a sample of 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students after playing to a real casual advergame. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to better understand an increasingly widespread practice consisting, of a brand, in signaling the domestic origin of its products aimed at domestic consumers, that is, the “made in the domestic country” (MIDC) strategy. Assessing the impact of operating lease capitalization with dynamic Monte Carlo simulation

Abstract The European Commission has recently adopted a new accounting standard for leases that will be implemented in 2019, which requires operating lease contracts to be included in the balance sheet, affecting key ratios, leverage and profitability. We simulate the impact of IFRS 16 using Monte Carlo method, which incorporates the uncertainty of the future value of variables when making predictions.
