Experiencing ethical retail ideology in the servicescape

Studies of the ideological underpinnings of retail stores have improved our understanding of consumers’ retail experiences in brand and national ideology contexts. In retailing, ideology is manifested in retail spatial settings through tangible and intangible cues in servicescapes. This study expands our knowledge on ethical retail ideology by exploring how servicescapes convey cues that shape consumption experiences and foster ethical consumption. This chapter examines how digitalisation has altered the way consumers experience the social interaction and service environment while shopping in retail stores. In this, we draw on the concept of servicescape, which comprises both tangible and intangible features which make up the service experience. Recognising the three realms of servicescape (physical, digital and social), we explore the role of social capital in determining the customer experience in digitalised retail servicescape. Il contributo esamina le sculture lignee custodite nelle chiese di Caltabellotta, piccolo centro siciliano della provincia di Agrigento. Si tratta di opere, perlopiù in discreto stato di conservazione, realizzate dalla metà del Cinquecento agli inizi dell’Ottocento. This essay examines the novel Seltsame Sterne starren zur Erde (2003) of the Turkish-German author Emine Sevgi Özdamar and the collection of essays In Deutschland leben (2004) of Iranian-German poet SAID. The focus of this work intends to show what different aspects multiculturalism may have at each different writers. Özdamar was born in Malatya in 1946. She woked in Germany as an actress, director and writer and became the symbol of a bridge-builder between the eastern and western culture.
