Päivi Arjaksen väitöskirjan tutkimushenkilöt jakaantuivat analyysin perusteella neljään tyyppiin. Tärkein erotteleva tekijä oli suhtautumistapa esiintymistilannetta kohtaan. Molemmat ryhmät, myönteisesti ja kielteisesti suhtautuvat, jakaantuivat musiikkiin orientoituneisiin ja itseensä keskittyviin muusikoihin. Myönteisesti suhtautuvat musiikkiorientoituneet muusikot kärsivät jännitysongelmasta vähiten ja heitä voitiin auttaa kognitiiviseen prosessointiin liittyvien harjoitusten avulla. Minä-suuntautuneissa esiintymiseen negatiivisesti suhtautuneissa muusikoissa oli ongelmajännittäjiä. Huomionarvoista on esiintymisjännityksen syiden yksilöllisyys.

Highlights • We studied interspecific variation in occupancy and abundance of freshwater species. • Occupancy and abundance correlated positively for both diatoms and macroinvertebrates. • Niche position had clearest effects on variation in occupancy and abundance. • The more marginal the niche position, the rarer a species is.
