Reframing Teacher Education: Towards the Integration of Phenomenon-Based Curriculum Reform and Organizational Culture

In this article, we report a case study of our experiences of a curriculum reform process based on the principles of phenomenon-based learning in higher education in the context of Finnish teacher education. We explore how democracy and participation were present in the decision making process, highlighting the challenges of promoting the phenomenon-based approach and collaboration. Tutkimus selvittää tapaustutkimuksen keinoin millainen on oppilaiden mielestä viihtyisä oppimisympäristö. In this article, we introduce our special issue, “International students’ lived experiences in the era unprecedented uncertainty and challenges: New voices from intersectional identities.” Our motivation and intention for this special issue, the focus, and the overall methodological approach are discussed. In addition to presenting the contributions of each article to this issue, we also discuss what we (all authors of this special issue) try to talk and how our voices are reflecting our unique experiences of coming to the new counties and leaving where we lived as international students by unfolding our stories and multiple identities that are intersecting while we experienced.

Recent scholarship has argued for media organizations’ need to radically innovate to ensure their survival in the future. This study deploys the innovative learning culture (ILC) framework to qualitatively study innovation and learning in a legacy public service media organization. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on tarkastella pedagogisia toimintaympäristöjä 6-vuotiaiden lasten kasvatuksessa Suomessa ja Hollannissa sekä selvittää, löytyykö niiden välillä eroja tai yhtäläisyyksiä. Tutkimus rajattiin, mukaillen varhaiskasvatuksen laatuun keskittyviä tutkimuksia, tarkastelemaan pedagogisia strategioita sekä puitetekijöitä. Tämä tutkimus käsittelee massiivisesti monipelattavan netti rooli-peli World of Warcratin pelaamisen ajallisia ja paikallisia rajoja fenomenologisella ja autoetnografisella lähestymistavalla. Tutkimus selvittää tapahtuuko pelaaminen taikapiirin sisällä ja voidaanko taikapiirin rajojen katsoa olevan samat kuin itse digitaalisen pelin.
