La questione della continuità degli interessi nei confronti dell’etnografia da parte degli storici tardoantichi è indagata in riferimento a Sozomeno, ed alla valutazione che lo storico ecclesiastico esprime di fronte all’importanza militare e politica dei barbari nell’imperium Romanum. Di fronte all’avanzata della cristianizzazione dell’impero, che appariva la più agevole strada da percorrere per l’integrazione dei barbari, si dispiega l’informazione puntuale dello storico sui rischi della barbarizzazione dell’esercito.

To write is a complex, delicate and intense act. The goal of this study has been to find out what the process of creative writing looks like when viewed through the concepts of ritual and play. I have engaged with creative writing research, research on ritual and play, and new materialist philosophy. Research data has been formed by ethnographic methods in a writing group as well as my own creative work. I have applied ritual and play to create writing prompts and creative writing methods. I interviewed Dorothy Noyes, Director of the Center for Folklore Studies, and As- sociate Professor of English, Comparative Studies, and Anthropology Ohio State University, Columbus (United States). Currently, her research interests involve the collective representations of plural societies, the social organization of vernacular creativity, and the history of international cultural regimes. Her primary fieldwork is in Catalonia, Spain, where she has studied the politics of local festivities. It was her book Fire in the Plaça (2003) that put some questions to my head about senses and encouraged me to get engaged with sensual experiences of ethnographic fieldwork. nonPeerReviewed

Tämän liikuntakasvatuksen kenttään sijoittuvan laadullisen, etnografisen toiminnallisen tapaustutkimukseni tarkoituksena on lisätä ymmärrystä 1990-luvulla Suomeen levinneestä elämys- ja seikkailupedagogiikasta ja tutkia sen sovellusmahdollisuuksia opetuksessa opetussuunnitelmaa toteuttaen. Lisäksi tarkoituksena on tutkia menetelmän soveltuvuutta erilaisille oppijoille. Ikääntyneiden kotona asumista pyritään tukemaan monin eri tavoin, onhan se myös yksi valtakunnallisista vanhuspoliittisista linjauksista. Lisäksi 1.7.2013 voimaan tullut laki ikääntyneen väestön toimintakyvyn tukemisesta sekä iäkkäiden sosiaali- ja terveyspalveluista painottaa ikääntyneen mahdollisuutta asua omassa kodissaan tai avohuollon palveluasumisessa mahdollisimman pitkään. Siitä huolimatta osa ikääntyneistä joutuu väistämättä pitkäaikaiseen laitoshoitoon.
