Crisi economica e vigilanza unica europea sulle banche: alcuni riflessi sul mercato dei servizi finanziari.

2015

This paper aims to examine some significant implications of the new European single banking supervision for the economics of banking and the market of financial services. It is one of the three pillars of the European Banking Union architecture, as part of a longer term vision for further economic and monetary integration in EU. The new supervisory mechanisms implies a huge and complex transfer of powers from national authorities to the European Central Bank. It aims to ensure the safety and soundness of the European banking system, increase financial integration and stability, and ensure consistent supervision. Banks are being held to common supervisory standards. The structure of this pap…

New high-sensitivity searches for neutrons converting into antineutrons and/or sterile neutrons at the HIBEAM/NNBAR experiment at the European Spalla…

2021

Abstract The violation of baryon number, B , is an essential ingredient for the preferential creation of matter over antimatter needed to account for the observed baryon asymmetry in the Universe. However, such a process has yet to be experimentally observed. The HIBEAM/NNBAR program is a proposed two-stage experiment at the European Spallation Source to search for baryon number violation. The program will include high-sensitivity searches for processes that violate baryon number by one or two units: free neutron–antineutron oscillation ( n → n ̄ ) via mixing, neutron–antineutron oscillation via regeneration from a sterile neutron state ( n → [ n ′ , n ̄ ′ ] → n ̄ ), and neutron disappearan…

Behavioral aspects of the European carbon market

2016

Life Cycle Energy and Environmental Assessment of the Thermal Insulation Improvement in Residential Buildings

2021

The refurbishment of the building stock is a key strategy towards the achievement of the climate and energy goals of the European Union. This study aims at evaluating the energy and environmental impacts associated with retrofitting a residential apartment to improve its vertical envelope thermal insulation. Two insulation materials, stone wool and cellulose fibers, are compared. The life cycle assessment methodology is applied assuming 1 m2 of retrofitted vertical envelope as functional unit. Moreover, to estimate the net energy and environmental benefits achievable in the retrofitted scenario compared with the non-retrofitted one, a second analysis is performed in which the system boundar…

Characterization of the Antioxidant Properties of Pentaerithrityl Tetranitrate (PETN)-Induction of the Intrinsic Antioxidative System Heme Oxygenase-…

2009

Organic nitrates are among the oldest and yet most commonly employed drugs in the chronic therapy of coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure. While they have long been used in clinical practise, our understanding of their mechanism of action and of their side effects remains incomplete. To date, the most commonly employed nitrates are isosorbide mononitrate (ISMN), isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN), and nitroglycerin (GTN). Another nitrate, pentaerithrityl tetranitrate (PETN), has long been employed in eastern European countries and is currently being reintroduced also in western countries. So far, PETN is the only organic nitrate in clinical use, which is devoid of induction of oxid…

The acanthocephalan parasite Polymorphus minutus alters the geotactic and clinging behaviours of two sympatric amphipod hosts: the native Gammarus pu…

2005

Acanthocephala are parasites with complex life cycles involving arthropod intermediate hosts and vertebrate final hosts. They use predation as a means of transmission, and some species have developed the ability to modify behaviour of their intermediate hosts to enhance the probability of ingestion by the definitive host. Knowledge of how a single parasite species is adapted to modify the behaviour of different intermediate host species is important for the understanding of parasitic transmission in host communities. In Burgundy, the freshwater amphipod crustaceans Gammarus pulex (native species) and Gammarus roeseli (eastern European invader) are both intermediate hosts for the acanthoceph…

Researches on the Advantages for the Environment of Using Bio-Fuels to Vehicles

2011

The paper presents researches on the possibilities and advantages for the environment of using bio-fuels , especially bio-ethanol and bio-gas. The international context is favorable to using bio-fuels, considering that a direction of European Union establishes that in 2020, 20% of the energy consumption of Romania must be provided by rechargeable energy. One source for producing bio-fuels, not so much used until now is sugar beet. Sugar beet wastes are estimated as 1.22 times sugar production, since the total dry matter of processing wastes and field wastes exceed the weight of sugar in the ratio of 55:45. The novelty of the present paper approach is the fact that sugar beet is less used fo…
