Factors controlling hydrochemical and trophic state variables in 86 shallow lakes in Europe

In order to disentangle the causes of variations in water chemistry among European shallow lakes, we performed standardised sampling programs in 86 lakes along a latitudinal gradient from southern Spain to northern Sweden. Lakes with an area of 0.1 to 27 000 ha and mean depth of 0.4–5.6 m located in low to high altitudes were investigated within the EC project ECOFRAME 1–4 times during June–October 2000–2001. Economic Freedom, Knowledge Economy and Global Competitiveness are three of the many and very different dimensions which characterize the level of a country’s performance. This paper tries to present these three important directions, the specific indicators that measure them – IEF, KEI, GCI – and the relationship between them. Also, it will try to demonstrate that countries with free economy can turn into knowledge and competitive economies. Furthermore, it will make a comparative analysis of Romania with the EU countries’ average in order to identify for Romania which pillar’s scores it has to improve.

Islands are frequently characterised by an economic structure centred on tourism and the service sector. This specialisation has taken different forms and characterisations concerning the chosen or spontaneously developed model. To understand the development choices and patterns, this article analyses sixteen islands and archipelagos in the European Union over ten years from 2010 to 2019. Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Eiropas Savienības piešķirto atbalsta fondu ietekme uz Latvijas tautsaimniecības attīstību un to kontrole un uzraudzība.”. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt Eiropas Savienības fondus un izstrādāt priekšlikumus kontroles mehānisma attīstīšanai. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no piecām nodaļām. Pirmajā nodaļā tiek izpētīti Eiropas Savienības fondi. Otrajā nodaļā tiek izanalīzēts fondu dalījums un to administrēšana.
