BACKGROUND We have made a comparison of clinical evaluation, Heidelberg-Retina-Tomograph (HRT) and Nerve Fiber Analyzer (GDx) in diagnosing glaucoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS One eye of 38 glaucoma patients and 26 non-glaucoma patients was examined with HRT and GDx. Assignment of the patients into the two groups by clinical evaluation was performed on the basis of visual field and optic disc results. PURPOSE To compare the effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) as a procedure to complement root canal treatment (RCT), for both primary treatment and retreatment. METHODS This was a retrospective study based on analysis of clinical records. A total of 214 teeth that had undergone RCT on either a primary or retreatment basis, with or without complementary PDT, were evaluated. Abstract Ninety ET patients diagnosed according to the PVSG criteria were enrolled in a phase II study (sponsored by the Schering-Plough Company) designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of a two years treatment with PEG Interferon alpha-2 b (PEG Intron). The patients, observed in 16 Italian Centres belonging to the GIMEMA Cooperative Group and judged at high risk, had been previously treated with cytoreductive (97%) and antiplatelet (91%) drugs.
