Educational self-management programs for children with asthma have now become a routine feature in the management of the disease, as international guidelines underline. We designed this trial to find out whether Aironet, an educational program developed for children with asthma, influenced asthma severity and improved parents' knowledge of the disease. Rat liver preservation by hypothermic oscillating liver perfusion compared to simple cold storage.

Rat livers were preserved hypothermically for 10 or 24 h in vitro as if for transplantation. Two methods of preservation were compared using physiological and biochemical parameters: simple storage and oscillating perfusion. By measuring the nucleotides after preservation the calculated energy charge was significantly higher after 10 and 24 h of oscillating perfusion compared to the simple storage group. Aim: From August 2007 to June 2014, the Norwegian School Fruit Scheme (NSFS) legally established that all pupils in junior high and combined schools (275,000 pupils every year), but not those in primary schools (343,000 pupils every year), were entitled to a free piece of fruit or vegetable every school day. The NSFS is a natural experiment, unique in terms of scope and lengthiness. Such governmental efforts to improve the diet of the public are rarely evaluated. Only a few countries have introduced health education (HE) as a stand-alone school subject. In Finland every pupil in basic education grades 7–9 takes three obligatory courses in HE. This study investigated Finnish pupils’ perceptions of the teaching and learning of HE. It also explored how school- and family-related background variables are associated with these perceptions.
