Oligothiophene derivatives play a central role in the formulation of materials used in devices in the field of organic electronics. In this work, we report the results of the study of UV-vis absorption and fluorescence spectra, in several solvents, of a series of oligothiophenes recently synthesized in our laboratory. Operāciju māsas riskē ar savu veselību – darbs piespiedu pozā vienveidīgas kustības, kas veiktas ātrā tempā, smagumu pārvietošanas ( piem. pacienta, smagu komplektu pārvietošana), garas darba stundas un pārslodzes. Preventive Support for Kindergarteners Most At-Risk for Mathematics Difficulties: Computer-Assisted Intervention

Weaknesses in early number skills have been found to be a risk factor for later difficulties in mathematical performance. Nevertheless, only a few intervention studies with young children have been published. In this study, the responsiveness to early support in kindergarteners with most severe difficulties was examined with two different computer programs. Two intervention groups were matched by age, visuo-spatial, and phonological working memory, as well as early number skills. Individual Creativity and Career Choices of Pre-teens in the Context of a Math-Art Learning Event

A sample of 392 students (aged 12-13 years, M± SD: 12. 52% girls) completed a learning module integrating informal hands-on mathematics and arts activity (extending STEM to STEAM). Within a 140 minute workshop period participants worked with commercially available ‘4Dframe’ Math and STEAM learning toolkits to design and create original, personal and individual geometrical structures. Two science pedagogues acted as tutors supervising the process and intervened only when needed. Synthesis, Structure and Solvatochromism of the Emission of Cyano-Substituted Oligo(phenylenevinylene)s

Strongly luminescent and highly soluble oligo(phenylenevinylene)s with five benzene rings and cyano groups in different positions of the terminal styrene units were prepared by means of Horner and Knoevenagel reactions. The substitution pattern − cyanide moieties on the vinyl or on the aromatic regions, together with the effect of auxochromic groups − has distinct influences on the electronic spectra, particularly on the fluorescence. Polar solvents induce red shifts and strongly reduce the fluorescence intensity of the vinyl-substituted oligomers.
