Resumen: Durante la represión del luteranismo en Sevilla (1557-1565), las mujeres representaron un porcentaje importante de los condenados. Y entre las supliciadas destacan mujeres que desempeñaron un papel y un rol central en la difusión de las nuevas doctrinas. Questo documento esplora il tema del "patto con il diavolo" in due brevi poemi agiografici, "Teofilo" e "Basilius", composti circa nel 960 dalla suora sassone Hrotsvitha di Gandersheim. In queste poesie, il tema in questione è strettamente legato alla "conversione", un argomento che Hrotsvitha affronta spesso nelle sue opere. This paper explores the theme of the “pact with the devil” in two hagiographical short poems, «Theophilus» and «Basilius», composed about 960 by the Saxon nun Hrotsvitha of Gandersheim. RESUMEN Es artículo analiza el caso de los centinelas del muro de Berlín que disparaban y mataron a algunas personas –que querían pasar la frontera-, amparados por una interpretación del Derecho de la RDA. Algunos años después de la unificación alemana, el Tribunal Constitucional condenó  aquellos soldados por asesinato con el argumento que se trataba de Derecho “extremadamente injusto”. DNA barcoding facilitates many evolutionary and ecological studies, including the examination of the dietary diversity of herbivores. In this study, we present a survey of ecological associations between herbivorous beetles and host plants from seriously threatened European steppic grasslands. We determined host plants for the majority (65%) of steppic leaf beetles (55 species) and weevils (59) known from central Europe using two barcodes (trnL and rbcL) and two sequencing strategies (Sanger for mono/oligophagous species and Illumina for polyphagous taxa). Aims:  Larvae of the red palm weevil (RPW) Rhynchophorus ferrugineus Olivier (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) feed inside palm stem tissues, making galleries and producing a wet fermenting frass. We characterized the culturable bacteria associated with frass produced by tunnelling larvae inside the Canary island date palms and investigated the role of frass and gut bacteria in plant polymers breakdown. Methods and Results:  A culture-dependent method was used to isolate bacteria from frass and noninfested palm tissues.
