Placoderms are an extinct group of early jawed vertebrates that play a key role in understanding the evolution of the gnathostome body plan, including the origin of novelties such as jaws, teeth, and pelvic fins. As placoderms have a poorly ossified axial skeleton, preservation of the mainly cartilaginous axial and fin elements is extremely rare, contrary to the heavily mineralized bones of the skull and thoracic armor. Therefore, the gross anatomy of the animals and body shape is only known from a few taxa, and reconstructions of the swimming function and ecology are speculative. Reflections on the significance of substratum and superstratum in the genesis and evolution of Catalan. The author considers how the recourse to the pre-Roman susbtratum in the etymological interpretation or in the historical and critical grammar has been carried to excess both by those absolutely against it and by those who take it as an all-explaining panacea. He also points out that, conversely to the interest in substratum, the Germanic superstratum has not received the attention it deserves in the genesis of Catalan because of various prejudices, some of them of an ideological kind.

[ES] El artículo presenta un análisis de la evolución de la línea de costa entre Alcossebre y Orpesa, a partir de fotografías aéreas y ortofotografías, entre 1956 y 2015. La digitialización de 12 líneas de costa ha permitido calcular los cambios netos y máximos, así como la tasa de cambio entre los diferentes años. Los resultados muestran una costa recesiva, con una gran variabilidad espacio-temporal. We have news of that from 1363, and along the following centuries, but the most interesting is the way the procession is represented by two series of drawings one from 1747, and the other from 1866. Catalonia was the only Mediterranean region among the early followers of the British industrial revolution. The roots of this process can be traced back to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries when the Catalan economy became integrated into international trade, and a successful printed calico industry concentrated in the city of Barcelona. Although the factory system was largely adopted by the cotton industry in the 1840s, the diffusion of the spinning jenny in Catalonia had occurred earlier, in the 1790s. Science and art from a transevolutionary perspective

From its origins, the human species has manipulated not only the real world but also the figurative one. While that manipulative action of the human species over both worlds was critical for the survival of the species in the beginning of its evolution -now transevolution-, it is also true that in the subsequent culture those worlds have been approached by two trades with highly different conceptual bases, science and art. In this paper I hold the thesis that both trades are necessary to know how to be in the world as well as how to transform it in an appropriate way.
