Tuberculosis among Migrant Populations in Sicily: A Field Report

Background. In the EU, tuberculosis (TB) mainly affects vulnerable people, including migrants. From 2014 to 2017, we have estimated the frequency of both tuberculosis and latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) among the migrant population hosted in 41 reception centers in western Sicily (ITaCA network). Materials and Methods. All migrants were consecutively recruited for the screening of TB infection with physical examination and TST in 1,020 migrants and with IGRA in the others 2,690. The screening was carried out 4–8 weeks after landing in Sicily. For all migrants with a positive screening test, chest X-ray and smear examination were performed. Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin ylioppilastutkinnon yleisarvosanan, tavoiteorientaatioiden ja muiden motivaatiotekijöiden yhteyttä menestymiseen valtakunnallisessa kasvatusalan valintayhteistyöverkoston toteuttamassa opiskelijavalintakokeessa (VAKAVA). Tutkimukseen osallistuivat Jyväskylän yliopiston luokanopettajakoulutukseen pyrkineet hakijat vuosina 2014 ja 2015 (n = 399). Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tutkia suullisen puhetaidon arvioinnin yhteneväisyyttä ruotsin kielen puhekokeessa. Tutkimuksessa informantit arvioivat 10 puheensuoritusta, jotka oli toteu-tettu Yleisen kielitutkinnon (YKI) puitteissa. Puhetaidon arvioinnin yhteneväisyyden tutkiminen toteutettiin vertaamalla YKI-arvioijien ja informanttien arviointien yhtäläisyyttä. Lisäksi aineistolähtöisen sisällönanalyysin avulla määritin, miten informantit soveltavat puhetaidon kriteerejä, joita eivät entuudestaan tunne. Abstract Introduction One of the most frequent complications after a total hip arthroplasty (THA) is bleeding, intravenous tranexamic acid (TXA) is used to reduce it. We considered it necessary to carry out a study to clarify which administration route is superior. Material and method Prospective, controlled and randomized study in 2 arms carried out between February 2017 and February 2018. 15 mg/kg of intravenous TXA were administered in group A and 2 g of intra-articular TXA in group B. Abstract Objectives In this study, we report on the clinical maxillary manifestations of a patient affected by McCune-Albright syndrome and the implications for orthodontic therapy. Materials and methods A male, 8-year-old patient was examined at the Department of Orthodontics of the University of L’Aquila for a problem of anterior open-bite. In the clinical examination, a small swelling of the left hemi-maxilla was seen in the area corresponding to the root apex of 16 and under the tooth buds of 14 and 15. Aims The main objective of this study is to analyze the penetration of bone cement in four different full cementation techniques of the tibial tray.
