Statistics of transitions for Markov chains with periodic forcing

The influence of a time-periodic forcing on stochastic processes can essentially be emphasized in the large time behaviour of their paths. The statistics of transition in a simple Markov chain model permits to quantify this influence. In particular the first Floquet multiplier of the associated generating function can be explicitly computed and related to the equilibrium probability measure of an associated process in higher dimension. An application to the stochastic resonance is presented.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: This European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) multicentre randomized phase III study was designed to assess the safety and efficacy of CD34+ selection in newly diagnosed myeloma patients undergoing autologous transplantation. DESIGN AND METHODS: One hundred and eleven patients responsive to initial chemotherapy were randomized to receive CD34+ selected (arm A) or unselected PBPC (arm B) after conditioning with high-dose melphalan and TBI. This paper addresses the issues concerning the professional status of the contemporary teacher. The first part of the article presents both the requirements for those working in the teaching profession and the changes that influence the role of the teacher in the teaching process. The second part of the paper presents the results of the research concerning the professional status of teachers. In most cases, the results were consistent with the results included in the report on the state of education 2013.

AbstractOvershooting immune reactions can occur during inflammatory responses that accompany severe infections, such as COVID-19. Cytokines, damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), and reactive oxygen and nitrogen species can generate positive feedback loops of inflammation, leading to long-term complications such as vascular endothelialitis, thrombosis, endothelial dysfunction, neurological impairments, and chronic fatigue.
