Anthropometric survey on children with Down syndrome

Abstract Objective Study of anthropometric values in the medical records of a representative group of paediatric patients with Down syndrome, from the Down syndrome Unit of the Paediatric Department of Valencia's Hospital Clinico Universitario, from 2000 to 2014. Patients and methods Descriptive observational study in a group of 140 patients between 1 and 13 years. The group was configured based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. We extracted data about birth from their first visit, and subsequently patient data at the time of each visit (643 measurements). Single photon production induced by (anti)neutrino neutral current scattering on nucleons and nuclear targets

We review our theoretical approach to neutral current photon emission on nucleons and nuclei in the few-GeV energy region, relevant for neutrino oscillation experiments. These reactions are dominated by the weak excitation of the $\Delta(1232)$ resonance but there are also important non-resonant contributions. We have also included terms mediated by nucleon excitations from the second resonance region. On nuclei, Pauli blocking, Fermi motion and the in-medium $\Delta$ resonance broadening have been taken into account for both incoherent and coherent reaction channels. Pfaffian and fragmented states atν=52in quantum Hall droplets

When a gas of electrons is confined to two dimensions, application of a strong magnetic field may lead to startling phenomena such as emergence of electron pairing. According to a theory this manifests itself as appearance of the fractional quantum Hall effect with a quantized conductivity at an unusual half-integer v=5/2 Landau level filling. Here we show that similar electron pairing may occur in quantum dots where the gas of electrons is trapped by external electric potentials into small quantum Hall droplets. Low-energy spectrum and finite temperature properties of quantum rings

Recently it was demonstrated that the rotational and vibrational spectra of quantum rings containing few electrons can be described quantitatively by an effective spin-Hamiltonian combined with rigid center-of-mass rotation and internal vibrations of localized electrons. We use this model Hamiltonian to study the quantum rings at finite temperatures and in presence of a nonzero magnetic field. Total spin, angular momentum and pair correlation show similar phase diagram which can be understood with help of the rotational spectrum of the ring.

Efficiencies of logical Bell measurements on Calderbank-Shor-Steane codes with static linear optics

We show how the efficiency of a logical Bell measurement (BM) can be calculated for arbitrary Calderbank-Shor-Steane (CSS) codes with the experimentally important constraint of using only transversal static linear-optical BMs on the physical single-photon qubit level. For this purpose, we utilize the codes' description in terms of stabilizers in order to calculate general efficiencies for the loss-free case, but also for specific cases including photon loss. These efficiencies can be, for instance, used for obtaining transmission rates of all-optical quantum repeaters. This paper presents a new self‐consistent dressing of a singles and doubles configuration interaction matrix which insures size‐consistency, separability into closed‐shell subsystems if localized molecular orbitals (MOs) are used, and which includes all fourth order corrections. This method yields, among several schemes, a reformulation of the coupled cluster method, including fully the cluster operators of single and double excitations, and partially those of the triples (Bartlett’s algorithm named CCSDT‐1a). Bound states of $��^+$ in nuclei

We study the binding energy and the width of the $��^+$ in nuclei, associated to the $K N$ and $ K ��N$ components. The first one leads to negligible contributions while the second one leads to a sizeable attraction, enough to bind the $��^+$ in nuclei. Pauli blocking and binding effects on the $K N$ decay reduce considerably the $��^+$ decay width in nuclei and medium effects associated to the $ K ��N$ component also lead to a very small width, as a consequence of which one finds separation between the bound levels considerably larger than the width of the states.

Clusterization in the shape isomers of the 56Ni nucleus

The interrelation of the quadrupole deformation and clusterization is investigated in the example of the ${}^{56}$Ni nucleus. The shape isomers, including superdeformed and hyperdeformed states, are obtained as stability regions of the quasidynamical U(3) symmetry based on a Nilsson calculation. Their possible binary clusterizations are investigated by considering both the consequences of the Pauli exclusion principle and the energetic preference.
