Abitare in estensione

2014

A strong electroweak phase transition from the inflaton field

2016

We study a singlet scalar extension of the Standard Model. The singlet scalar is coupled non-minimally to gravity and assumed to drive inflation, and also couple sufficiently strongly with the SM Higgs field in order to provide for a strong first order electroweak phase transition. Requiring the model to describe inflation successfully, be compatible with the LHC data, and yield a strong first order electroweak phase transition, we identify the regions of the parameter space where the model is viable. We also include a singlet fermion with scalar coupling to the singlet scalar to probe the sensitivity of the constraints on additional degrees of freedom and their couplings in the singlet sec…

The Effect of the Cranial Electrotherapy on the Muscle Motor Function in Different Operating Modes

2015

The aim of the present study was to analyze the effect of cranial electrotherapy stimulation on muscle function analysis indicators. Instrumental assessment of muscle function (on a REV9000, Technogym, Italy) was performed before and after cranial electrotherapy stimulation, assessments of the muscle function was performed during knee extension maximum voluntary, isometric contraction (MVIC), angle velocity with load 45Nm isotonic contraction and maximum pick torque in isokinetic contraction on 30°/s, 200°/s and 300°/s and neuromuscular efficiency measurements. To analyze data was used Excel program Statistics 3.1. Subjects of our study were twenty healthy athletes of sport fitness. 1 minu…

Effect of conjugated system extension on structural features and electron-density distribution in charge–transfer difluoroborates

2021

A comparative structural study of two related donor–acceptor pyridine-based BF2 complexes, namely, 3-(dimethylamino)-1,1-difluoro-1H-pyrido[1,2-c][1,3,5,2]oxadiazaborinin-9-ium-1-uide, C8H10BF2N3O (1), and 3-{(1E,3E)-4-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]buta-1,3-dien-1-yl}-1,1-difluoro-1H-pyrido[1,2-c][1,3,5,2]oxadiazaborinin-9-ium-1-uide, C18H18BF2N3O (2), containing a dimethylamino group and either the shortest (in 1) or the longest (in 2) charge-transfer path known until now in this family of compounds, is presented. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis supported by computational investigations shed more light on these systems, indicating, among other aspects, the predominance of C—H...F cont…

Mākslīgo skropstu pieaudzēšanas ietekme uz acs priekšējo struktūru veselību.

2020

Decentralized Deployment of Mobile Sensors for Optimal Connected Sensing Coverage

2008

In this paper, we address the optimal connected sensing coverage problem, i.e., how mobile sensors with limited sensing capabilities can cooperatively adjust their locations so as to maximize the extension of the covered area while avoiding any internal “holes”, areas that are not covered by any sensor. Our solution consists in a distributed motion algorithm that is based on an original extension of the Voronoi tessellation.

Scatter search for an uncapacitated p-hub median problem

2015

Scatter search is a population-based method that has been shown to yield high-quality outcomes for combinatorial optimization problems. It uses strategies for combining solution vectors that have proved effective in a variety of problem settings. In this paper, we present a scatter search implementation for an NP -hard variant of the classic p-hub median problem. Specifically, we tackle the uncapacitated r-allocation p-hub median problem, which consists of minimizing the cost of transporting the traffics between nodes of a network through special facilities that act as transshipment points. This problem has a significant number of applications in practice, such as the design of transportati…
