A strong electroweak phase transition from the inflaton field

We study a singlet scalar extension of the Standard Model. The singlet scalar is coupled non-minimally to gravity and assumed to drive inflation, and also couple sufficiently strongly with the SM Higgs field in order to provide for a strong first order electroweak phase transition. Requiring the model to describe inflation successfully, be compatible with the LHC data, and yield a strong first order electroweak phase transition, we identify the regions of the parameter space where the model is viable. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts 60 lappusēs angļu valodā. Tas satur 23 attēlus, 45 informācijas avotus un 9 pielikumus. Mērķis: šī pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādas acu izmaiņas ir notikušas vienu nedēļu pēc daļēji noturīgo skropstu pieaudzēšanas. Metodes: septiņiem pētījuma dalībniekiem tika četras reizes novērtētas konjunktīvas izmaiņas, asaru apjoma izmaiņas un alerģijas rādītājs, izmantojot arī subjektīvas anketas. Rezultāti: visiem šī pētījuma dalībniekiem bija daži ar daļēji noturīgu skropstu pieaudzēšanu saistīti acu simptomi, vairumam dalībnieku bija konjunktīvas apsārtums dažādos līmeņos, un daudziem bija asaru apjoma izmaiņas. Sobolev homeomorphic extensions onto John domains

Given the planar unit disk as the source and a Jordan domain as the target, we study the problem of extending a given boundary homeomorphism as a Sobolev homeomorphism. For general targets, this Sobolev variant of the classical Jordan-Schoenflies theorem may admit no solution - it is possible to have a boundary homeomorphism which admits a continuous $W^{1,2}$-extension but not even a homeomorphic $W^{1,1}$-extension. We prove that if the target is assumed to be a John disk, then any boundary homeomorphism from the unit circle admits a Sobolev homeomorphic extension for all exponents $p<2$. John disks, being one sided quasidisks, are of fundamental importance in Geometric Function Theory.

Membrane fission is an essential process in membrane trafficking and other cellular functions. While many fissioning and trafficking steps are mediated by the large GTPase dynamin, some fission events are dynamin independent and involve C-terminal-binding protein-1/brefeldinA-ADP ribosylated substrate (CtBP1/BARS). To gain an insight into the molecular mechanisms of CtBP1/BARS in fission, we have studied the role of this protein in macropinocytosis, a dynamin-independent endocytic pathway that can be synchronously activated by growth factors. Quasi *-algebras arising from extensions of positive linear functionals

In this paper we show how some known quasi *-algebras can also be obtained through the construction of slight extensions of nonclosable positive linear functionals defined on dense *-subalgebras Ao of given topological *-algebras. Moreover, we consider also, for each of the functionals we present, their absolutely convergent extensions and the GNS *-representations of the quasi *-algebras arising in the process of extension.
