Info-communicationnal approach of medical cannabis self-medication : analysis of figures mobilized in knowledge legitimation within a community dedic…
2022
This thesis proposes an infocommunicational approach to self-medication with medical cannabis. We question the logic of knowledge legitimization in a context where the coercive power of the French state is exercised. We seek to understand how the use of cannabis is determined in a radically constrained legislative framework, for users in a recreational or self-medication approach, but also for doctors and patients in a medical approach. To do this, we analyze the processes of knowledge legitimization that allow the development of practical know-how allowing individuals to consume cannabis in a self-medication approach within clandestine health communities of practice, supported by participa…
Does the Pension System’s Income Statement Really Matter? A Proposal for An NDC Scheme with Disability and Minimum Pension Benefits
2019
This paper develops a full accounting model for monitoring the solvency of a notional defined contribution (NDC) pension scheme with disability and minimum pension benefits. Using the annual report of the Swedish pension system as a benchmark (TSPS, 2019), we extend the “Swedish” actuarial balance developed by Perez-Salamero et al. (2017) by adding an income statement which fully explains the reasons behind the changes in the system’s solvency by type of benefit. In line with the reference model, assets and liabilities are measured at present value at each reporting date, and changes in present value are reported in each period as income or expenses and are included on the income statement.…
Plantinga’s Haecceitism and Simple Quantified Modal Logic
2017
In a series of papers Alvin Plantinga argued for a serious actualist modal semantics based on the notions of possible world, understood as maximal possible state of affairs, and of individual essence (haecceity). Plantinga’s actualism is known as haecceitism. In spite of the fact that haecceitism has been thought by Plantinga to require a Kripke-style semantics, the aim of this paper is to show that it is compatible with constant domains semantics and the simplest quantified modal logic. I will argue that not only does this approach have all the advantages of a greater simplicity in combining quantification and modalities, but also it better conforms to the actualist program.
Gradient Scheduling Algorithm for Fair Delay Guarantee in Logarithmic Pricing Scenario
2008
In this paper we propose a packet scheduling scheme for ensuring delay as a Quality of Service (QoS) requirement. For customers, fair service is given while optimizing revenue of the network service provider. Gradient type algorithm for updating the weights of a packet scheduler is derived from a revenue-based optimization problem in the logarithmic pricing scenario. Algorithm is simple to implement. We compared algorithm with optimal brute-force method. The weight updating procedure is independent on the assumption of the connection's statistical behavior, and therefore it is robust against erroneous estimates of statistics.
Determinants of Consumer's Buying Behavior for digital products in Trade Fair
2019
The purpose of this study is to examine the factors which have an effect on the intention to shop digital products at the India International Trade Fair. The study comprises both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the buying behaviour of consumers who visit trade fair. For this, a sample of 160 respondents has been taken by using non-random convenience sampling method. The key factors, i.e., value for money (price and quality), brand awareness and service utility were identified and analysed through the use of factor analysis. Findings point out that value for money and brand awareness are the most important variables that influence decision of consumers to shop at trade fair. The stu…
The simulation and analysis of the revenue critierion based adaptive WFQ
2003
This paper presents the simulation and analysis of the adaptive resource allocation model, which was proposed and theoretically considered in our previous works. It relies upon the Weighted Fair Queueing (WFQ) service policy and uses the revenue criterion to adjust weights. The purpose of the proposed model is to maximize a provider's revenue and, at the same time, ensure the required Quality-of-Service (QoS) for end-users. Our previous works provided the theoretical evaluation of the proposed model and considered the single-node case only. This paper presents more realistic network scenario, which includes a set of clients and several intermediate switching nodes with the proposed model. T…

Fairs for e-commerce: the benefits of aggregating buyers and sellers
2016
In recent years, many new and interesting models of successful online business have been developed. Many of these are based on the competition between users, such as online auctions, where the product price is not fixed and tends to rise. Other models, including group-buying, are based on cooperation between users, characterized by a dynamic price of the product that tends to go down. There is not yet a business model in which both sellers and buyers are grouped in order to negotiate on a specific product or service. The present study investigates a new extension of the group-buying model, called fair, which allows aggregation of demand and supply for price optimization, in a cooperative ma…
e-Fair: Aggregation in e-Commerce for Exploiting Economies of Scale
2017
In recent years, many new and interesting models of successful online business have been developed, including competitive models such as auctions, where the product price tends to rise, and group-buying, where users cooperate obtaining a dynamic price that tends to go down. We propose the e-fair as a business model for social commerce, where both sellers and buyers are grouped to maximize benefits. e-Fairs extend the group-buying model aggregating demand and supply for price optimization as well as consolidating shipments and optimize withdrawals for guaranteeing additional savings. e-Fairs work upon multiple dimensions: time to aggregate buyers, their geographical distribution, price/quant…
L'equa remunerazione degli autori e degli artisti dopo l'attuazione della Direttiva 2019/790
2023
This essay focuses on the equalization remedies introduced by Articles 107, paragraph 2 and 110-quinquies of the l.a., transposing Articles 18 and 20 of EU Directive 2019/790. In particular, it brings the right to adequate and proportionate remuneration back to a form of protection of the weak contracting party assisted by an invalidating remedy corrected by a necessary partial nullity rule; and excludes that the adjustment mechanism can be brought back within the framework of the hardship clause.
