Maģistra darba tēma ir “Pirmā un otrā tipa cukura diabēta pacientu farmaceitiskā aprūpe Latvijas aptiekās”. Maģistra darba tēma ir aktuāla, jo ar katru gadu pieaug cukura diabēta pacientu skaits visā pasaulē, tostarp arī Latvijā. Farmaceitiskā aprūpe ir veselības aprūpes prakse, kas vērsta uz pozitīvu ar pacienta veselību saistīto rezultātu sasniegšanu, tā tika ieviesta 1970.gadu vidū, un ir aktuāla visā pasaulē arī šodien. Farmaceitiskās aprūpes vislielākais ieguvējs ir tieši pacients ar hroniskām slimībām, piemēram, cukura diabētu. Hroniska sirds mazspēja ir viena no pasaulē biežākajām kardiovaskulārajām saslimšanām. Hroniskas sirds mazspējas ārstēšanai paredzētie medikamenti tiek iedalīti 9 grupās - beta adrenoblokatori (BAB), angiotenzīnu konvertējošā enzīma inhibitori (AKE-I), angiotenzīna receptoru blokatori (ARB), aldosterona antagonisti, ivabradīns, sirds glikozīdi, kardioprotektori, nitrāti un cilpas diurētiskie līdzekļi. Medikamentu uzglabāšana un utilizācija ir aktuāla mūsdienās, jo patērētāju zināšanas šajā jomā ir vājas: pacients nav informēts, kā pareizi uzglabāt medikamentus mājas apstākļos un kā pareizi tos utilizēt. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot vai Latvijas iedzīvotāji zina, kā pareizi uzglabāt un utilizēt medikamentus, un vai viņi to dara pareizi. Bakalaura darba uzdevumi bija apkopot literatūru par medikamentu uzglabāšanu un utilizāciju, apkopot informāciju par medikamentu uzglabāšanu un utilizāciju regulējošajiem normatīvajiem aktiem Latvijā un citās valstīs, kā arī aptaujāt farmācijas speciālistus un iedzīvotājus par medikamentu uzglabāšanu un utilizāciju.

In male rats, the intermittent alcohol access paradigm produces relevant and specific consequences on neuronal activity and behavior, with respect to traditional free-access paradigms (Carnicella et al., 2014).
