Reliable taxonomy underpins communication in all of biology, not least nature conservation and sustainable use of ecosystem resources. The flexibility of taxonomic interpretations, however, presents a serious challenge for end-users of taxonomic concepts. Users need standardised and continuously harmonised taxonomic reference systems, as well as highquality and complete taxonomic data sets, but these are generally lacking for nonspecialists. In order to establish systematic, ecological and ethological studies, it is extremely important to know the composition of faunal species of Lepidoptera collected in the past and present from "Dumbrava Sibiului" Forest located on the outskirts of Sibiu in central Romania. To assess the current state of Lepidoptera species, we conducted a complex research which was carried out for over 13 years, based on our own samples collected: from March to November, but also on the data resulted from studying the species existing in the collections of the Natural History Museum of Sibiu. Eastern part of Poland is unevenly examined according to distribution of terrestrial true-bugs. Among well studied zoogeographical regions (Wyżyna Lubelska, Beskid Wschodni, Roztocze), true-bugs fauna of others like Podlasie and Nizina Sandomierska is poorly documented. The paper presents new faunistic data on the occurrence of true-bugs Heteroptera in Eastern Poland. Localities were scattered in 17 UTM squares in five zoogeographical regions: Podlasie, Puszcza Białowieska, Wyżyna Lubelska, Nizina Sandomierska and Roztocze. The Laotian Rock Rat Laonastes aenigmamus Jenkins, Kilpatrick, Robinson & Timmins, 2005 was originally discovered in Lao People's Democratic Republic in 2005. This species has been recognized as the sole surviving member of the otherwise extinct rodent family Diatomyidae. Laonastes aenigmamus was initially reported only in limestone forests of Khammouane Province, Central Lao. A second population was recently discovered in Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park (PNKB NP), Quang Binh Province, Central Vietnam in 2011.
