Interdisciplinarity in The Second Sex: Between Phenomenology and Psychoanalysis

This chapter analyzes Simone de Beauvoir’s way of combining different theoretical frameworks, in particular, those of phenomenology and psychoanalysis. To elucidate the nature of Beauvoirian interdisciplinarity, I will examine Beauvoir’s discussion of penis envy and her application of Helene Deutsch’s views. I will argue that the combination of psychoanalysis and phenomenology in The Second Sex brings about an inner tension, of which those interested in applying Beauvoir’s interdisciplinary approach should be aware. nonPeerReviewed
On the implementation of NLO high energy factorization in single inclusive forward hadron production

Single inclusive particle production cross sections in high energy hadron collisions at forward rapidity are an important benchmark process for the CGC picture of small x QCD. Recent calculations of this process have not led to a stable perturbative expansion for this quantity at high transverse momenta. We consider the quark channel production cross section using the new rapidity factorization procedure proposed by Iancu et al. We show that for fixed coupling one does indeed obtain a physically meaningful cross section which is positive and reduces in a controlled way to previous leading order calculations. The following article presents the results of a research-action and an online communication campaign on the prevention of radicalization of second-generation young Italian Muslims as a part of a project called “Oltre” (the Italian acronym means “Beyond”) financed by European Union. Fa 50 anys, a Conflicte lingüístic valencià, Rafael L. Ninyoles situava el trencament de la transmissió familiar del català com a resultat i manifestació externa de conflictes socials i de classes, especialment visibles enmig del procés de modernització econòmica i mobilitat social accelerada del País Valencià dels anys 60 del segle XX. The expression “second-generation” is particularly complex for several reasons. First of all, because of the link with the term “generation,” the use of the adjective “second,” and the meanings attributed to it by those so defined. Questo secondo reperto si presenta come l’aspetto malleabile della sessualità umana; la variabilità non è però assoluta: il corpo non può essere annullato e con esso le proprietà del corpo femminile e di quello maschile, congegni atti a generare una nuova vita della specie umana.
