Design and Implementation of a Tool for Analysing Student Products When They Solve Fermi Problems

In this chapter, we present a tool for analysing the work of secondary-level students from two different schools when they solve a type of Fermi problem. The tool is based on the characterisation of the concepts, procedures and language used to construct the models. Our results show that the proposed tool is useful to describe the models and to distinguish different aspects between the models produced by students without any previous modelling experience and those obtained by students who were already acquainted with working on modelling activities.

Przedstawiono znaczenie, rozwój metod otrzymywania, kierunki zastosowania i perspektywy rozwoju poliolefin (polietylenu i polipropylenu), materiałów dominujących w światowej produkcji i zużyciu tworzyw sztucznych. Scharakteryzowano oddziaływania tych polimerów na środowisko, kolejno w etapie ich wytwarzania, wykorzystywania i utylizacji odpadów poużytkowych. Scharakteryzowano także kierunki badań prowadzonych w Instytucie Chemii Uniwersytetu Opolskiego w zakresie syntezy, charakterystyki, a przede wszystkim temo- i fotooksydacyjnej degradacji oraz starzenia atmosferycznego poliolefin.

Regional differences in Italian students' performance: a simulation model

This work presents the first results of a research project seeking to build a simulation model able to reproduce the differences of Italian students’ performance at regional level. A preliminary qualitative cause-and-effect model defines the main variable involved in the inter-generational skill formation processes, as well as their interplay with the job market context and the triggering of motivational forces for new skill acquisition. Le lieu-dit Le Castelet à Grenade (Haute-Garonne) est situé à égale distance (1,5 km) du confluent Hers-Girou vers l’est et d’un méandre de la Garonne vers le nord-ouest. La enfermedad celíaca (EC) es un trastorno sistémico, crónico y de origen autoinmune que afecta a individuos genéticamente susceptibles. Se presenta con una gran variedad de signos, síntomas y enfermedades asociadas, incluso también puede cursar de manera asintomática, lo que hace difícil su diagnóstico. La EC se diagnostica con mayor frecuencia en las mujeres y a edades más tempranas que a los hombres.
