2018
The many discoveries made in preventive archaeology have drawn the picture of a highly anthropogenic landscape in Bronze Age France. Timber post buildings are the most common type of dwellings however other types of construction (sills, mudbrick, …) that have lighter foundations and are more susceptible to erosion are considered less common due to the inherent problems of identification. Small dwellings from 25 to 40 m2 with a quadrangular 1 to 3 aisled plan and built to house a nuclear family are the most common,. Other types of buildings differ from this standardised plan such as the long rectangular dwellings in Alsace dating to the Early Bronze Age (type Eching) or the Early Bronze Age …
'The Letter of Fermes: not only Marvels'
2009

2015
The first discoveries concerning the Early Bronze Age in the region of Genlis (Burgundy, Côte d’Or) were madeduring the construction of the A39 motorway, the first major development project to be associated with archaeological monitoring. Excavations made by H. Dartevelle in the early 1990’s revealed two large areas of settlements with two ellipsoidal houses, smaller buildings and satellite structures (Dartevelle 1992). The site of Genlis-Izier, “Le Joannot” remained the only local reference for early Bronze Age habitats until the early 2010’s, when the construction of the L.G.V. Rhin-Rhône considerably updated this data. This article provides a summary of new and existing discoveries, and …

2017
Feeding an increasing world population with a sustainable agriculture is one of the greatest challenges of this century. The reduction of the reliance on pesticides is a critical aspect in this quest for sustainability. Whether cropping systems with reduced reliance on pesticides would be able to reconcile the various components of sustainability remains however a matter of debate. Are they as productive and profitable than current mainstream cropping systems? Here the objective is to study the feasibility of a reduced reliance on pesticides in France. We used a unique dataset from a national network of more than thousand arable commercial farms between 2009 and 2011. Launched in the framew…
