An Application of the Fixed Point Theory to the Study of Monotonic Solutions for Systems of Differential Equations

In this paper, we establish some conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the monotonic solutions for nonhomogeneous systems of first-order linear differential equations, by using a result of the fixed points theory for sequentially complete gauge spaces.
Fixed-Point Theorems in Complete Gauge Spaces and Applications to Second-Order Nonlinear Initial-Value Problems

We establish fixed-point results for mappings and cyclic mappings satisfying a generalized contractive condition in a complete gauge space. Our theorems generalize and extend some fixed-point results in the literature. We apply our obtained results to the study of existence and uniqueness of solution to a second-order nonlinear initial-value problem.

It is well known that the most widely used distribution function for fiber tensile strength, the two-parameter Weibull distribution, does not always adequately describe the experimentally observed fiber strength scatter and the strength dependence on fiber length. The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is considered to be the main barrier to drug transport into the central nervous system (CNS). The BBB restricts the passive diffusion of many drugs from blood to brain. The ease with which any particular drug diffuses across the BBB is determined largely by the molecular features of drugs, and it is therefore possible to predict the BBB permeability of a drug from its molecular structure. This dataset contains the land area fractions and population fractions exposed ('le' for land exposed and 'pe' for population exposed) to the following six extreme climate impact events: crop failures (lec/pec), drought (led/ped), heatwaves (leh/peh), river floods (ler/per), tropical cyclones (let/pet) and wildfire (lew/pew). It is the data behind Lange et al., 2020. The data are provided on a global 0.5° grid and in annual time steps. We study the behaviour of a charge bound on a graphene annulus under the assumption that the particle can be treated as a massless Dirac electron. The eigenstates and relative energy are found in closed analytical form. Subsequently, we consider a large annulus with radius ρ∈[5000,10,000]a0 in the presence of a static magnetic field orthogonal to its plane and again the eigenstates and eigenenergies of the Dirac electron are found in both analytical and numerical form.
