Hydrogen bonding interaction of N5H with water: A first principle calculations

Abstract The cyclopentazol (N5H) and its anion counterpart (N5–) have been studied extensively over the years and detected in the gas phase as well as in solution recently. In the present investigation, an attempt has been made to understand the interaction with water molecule using first principle calculations. Nature of interactions have been studied using both energy decomposition analysis and atoms in molecule (AIM) theory calculations. Further, the strength of non-covalent interactions were analysed using IGMplots.

Elucidating the Influence of the Activation Energy on Reaction Rates by Simulations Based on a Simple Particle Model

An application for visualizing the dynamic properties of an equimolar binary mixture of isotropic reactive particles is presented. By introducing a user selectable choice for the activation energy, the application is useful to demonstrate qualitatively that the reaction rate depends on the above choice and on temperature. The application is based on a 2D realistic dynamic model where atoms move because of their thermal energies and the trajectories are determined by solving numerically Newton’s laws according to a Molecular Dynamics (MD) scheme. New data about the landscape of the first occupation of Mallorca: Coval Simó (Escorca, Mallorca)

The Coval Simó shelter provides some of the oldest evidence for settlement on the island of Mallorca and the Balearic archipelago. It also has the peculiarity of being a habitat in a mountain area, so that the human groups that settled there had to adapt their agricultural and farming sys­tem to this environment. When less means more: evolutionary and developmental hypotheses in rodent molars.

All rodents have a toothless diastema lacking canine and most premolars present in most other mammals. Whereas some rodent lineages retained one premolar (p4), many others lost it during evolution. Recently, an 'inhibitory cascade' developmental model (IC) has been used to predict how the first molar (m1) influences the number and relative sizes of the following distal molars (m2 and m3). Empowering education professionals with twenty-first century skills through master's of education dissertation/thesis work

This paper aims to explore the potential role of Master’s of Education dissertation/thesis work in developing twenty-first century skills. A total of 600 education professionals studying Master’s of Education programmes in five countries – Poland, Portugal, England, Latvia, and Romania – were surveyed. The findings have revealed that participants recognise the usefulness of twenty-first century skills for their (future) professional practice, and perceive dissertation/thesis work as a valuable foundation for developing these skills.
