This article is aim ed at ąuestioning the widely used concept of appreciation lexicographically. It is explicitly to proceed on the term s compliment, praise, recognition and flattery. It is thus to determ ine their m utual relationship. Even if it is assum ed that compliment, praise and recognition are to use as synonymous in everyday life speaking, this statem ent is still needed a lexicographical review.
