The present paper addresses the question of the role Executive Education performs in the strengthening and reproduction of neoliberal ideology. Background A higher risk of shoulder injury in the athletic and non-athletic population is frequently associated with strength deficits. Therefore, shoulder strength assessment can be clinically useful to identify and to quantify the magnitude of strength deficit. Dupuytren contracture in diabetic hand

Dupuytren's disease (DD) is a fibroproliferative disorder of unknown origin causing palmar nodules and flexion contracture of the digits. About 5% of individuals with DD are diabetic, with an increased prevalence that is proportional to the duration of the diabetes. The association with diabetes mellitus is well recorded, with a reported prevalence of between 3% and 32%. This review considers the evidence behind the association between DD and diabetes mellitus, considering the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and therapies that can be found in the literature.
Effect of fatigue and gender on kinematics and ground reaction forces variables in recreational runners.

The presence of fatigue has been shown to modify running biomechanics. Overall in terms of gender, women are at lower risk than men for sustaining running-related injuries, although it depends on the factors taken into account. One possible reason for these differences in the injury rate and location might be the dissimilar running patterns between men and women. Force Generation Profiles of Para-Nordic Sit-Skiers Representing Different Physical Impairments

Abstract Purpose To biomechanically profile force generation connected to the complex role of the trunk in double poling in a representative sample of Para-Nordic sit-skiers. Methods Twelve male World Cup Para-Nordic sit-skiers (sport classes: LW10–12) were skiing on flat snow terrain at submaximal speed of 4.5 m/s (~ 73% maximum speed). 2D video (50 Hz) and pole force analyses (1000 Hz) were performed synchronously, examining angle, force and cycle characteristics to analyse the role of the trunk in generating propulsion. Mechanical characterization of bio-based composite/metal laminates for an application in street furniture

In this work, it is proposed to study the influence of three manufacturing parameters in the development of bio-basedcomposite/steel hybrids. These parameters arethe methodof assembly between composite and metal, the distribution of composite and steellayers throughthe thicknessof the hybrid,and the stacking sequence of the composite part of the hybrid. The study was conducted through impact tests at different energies and quasi-static three-point bending tests. For each of these parameters, the influenceon the mechanical properties of the hybrid is evaluated.The results show that these properties depend essentially on the relative distribution of steel and composite through the thickness.
