Synthetic studies on the preparation of oxygenated spongiane diterpenes from carvone

Abstract The paper describes a new diastereoselective approach to oxygenated spongiane diterpenes functionally related to natural dorisenones. The strategy followed for the preparation of the spongiane framework, a B→AB→ABC→ABCD approach, is based on the preparation of epoxydecalone 11 (AB rings) from R-(−)-carvone, followed by an intramolecular Diels–Alder reaction for the construction of the C ring (compound 26 ). Further manipulation of the Diels–Alder adduct functionality allows the completion of the spongiane framework and the elaboration of several oxygenated spongiane-type compounds. The synthesis of the reported structure for seco-isoerivanin pseudo acid (1) and of an elemane bis-lactone 5 from santonin (4) through a common vinylic precursor 12 is described. Compound 5 is a known intermediate in a previous synthesis of the antitumor compound (+)-8-deoxyvernolepin (3). The vinyl group of 12 underwent a regio- and diastereoselective anti addition of an external electrophile and an intramolecular condensation to yield either the selenolactone 13 or the hydroxylactone 17. The lactones 13 and 17 served as key intermediates in the total synthesis of 1 and 5 respectively. The molecular structure of (p-ClC 6 H 4 )(CH 3 )NNO 2 (or C 7 H 7 ClN 2 O 2 ) contains a planar NNO 2 nitroamino group which is twisted about the N-C phenyl bond by ca 68° from the plane of the aromatic ring. The structural data are in agreement with the spectral results and indicate that there is no conjugation between the aromatic sextet and the nitroamino group. There are no specific intermolecular interactions.

A novel correction method for a low cost sensorless control system of IPMSM electrical drives

In this paper a novel correction method for sensorless Field Oriented Control System of Brushless internal Permanent Magnet Electrical Drives is introduced discussed and experimentally validated. The novelty of this control system is the estimation of rotor speed and angular position is based on the back electromotive force space vector determination, without the aid of voltage probes. Actual voltage signals needed for estimation are replaced with the reference ones given by the current controller. ABSTRACT Multidimensional forced-choice questionnaires are widely regarded in the personnel selection literature for their ability to control response biases. Recently developed IRT models usually rely on the assumption that item parameters remain invariant when they are paired in forced-choice blocks, without giving it much consideration. This study aims to test this assumption empirically on the MUPP-2PL model, comparing the parameter estimates of the forced-choice format to their graded-scale equivalent on a Big Five personality instrument. The popularity of ionic liquids (ILs) has grown during the last decades in several analytical separation techniques. Consequently, the number of reports devoted to the applications of ILs is still increasing. This review is focused on the use of ILs (mainly imidazolium-based associated to chloride and tetrafluoroborate) as mobile phase additives in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Novel method for functionalising and patterning textile composites:Liquid resin print

Abstract The paper reports a novel method of integrating resin into continuous textile reinforcement. The method presents a print of liquid reactive resin into textile preforms. A series of targeted injections forms a patch which upon consolidation and curing transforms into a stiff region continuously spanning through preform thickness. Enhancing the injected resin with conductive phase allows creating a pattern of patches with controlled dimensions and added functionalities. Experimental Studies Regarding Mechanical Behaviour of Textile Reinforcements Laminated Composite Materials

The aim of this paper is to determine the mechanical properties of textile reinforcements laminated composite material and to establish the influence of thickness about these properties. The composite material used for this is a laminated sheet of HGW 2082. In order to study the mechanical behaviour of these kinds of materials we select two experimental tests: uniaxial test and bending test.
