Il capitolo è il prodotto di una ricerca quali-quantitativa che ha messo in luce, per quanto riguarda l’area del Calatino Sud-Simeto, un’economia disaggregata e riorganizzata solo in base a dipendenze esterne (economia marginale), del tutto simile a quella descritta da Bagnasco in Le tre Italie (1977). Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir “Rīgas iedzīvotāju attieksme pret ārzemnieku apmešanos uz pastāvīgu dzīvi Latvijā”. Darba mērķis bija noskaidrot kāda ir Rīgas iedzīvotāju attieksme pret ārzemnieku apmešanos uz pastāvīgu dzīvi Latvijā. Pētījuma uzdevumi bija noskaidrot, 1) kas ietekmē attieksmes veidošanos pret ārzemnieku integrēšanos Latvijā, 2) kāda ir Rīgas iedzīvotāju attieksme pret ārzemniekiem Latvijā, 3) kas veicina Rīgas iedzīvotāju toleranci pret Latvijā dzīvojošajiem ārzemniekiem. This paper intends to figure out why immigrants remit, what characteristicsthey have and, in particular, which of these individual characteristics influence (and inwhat sense) their propensity to remit. In particular, it intends to verify the existence of a"time effect" during the migration process. The time effect suppose that the propensityand the intensity of remittances becomes less consistent as far as the immigrantintegrates into the host country and the ties with the country of origin become lessintense. En este articulo se analizan, a partir de los microdatos de la Estadística de Variaciones Residenciales del período 1988-2001, las características demográficas y los patrones espaciales de las migraciones internas de la población extranjera en España. Entre los principales resultados de este trabajoso destacan: una mayor intensidad migratoria de los extranjeros con relación a los españoles; los extranjeros muestran una gran diversidad de patrones migratorios cuando se consideran diferentes nacionalidades. In the paragraphs 22-23 of the speech 56, Libanius proposes the expulsion of foreigners from the city of Antioch. The measure, in fact, is not so peremptory, as it contains rather the criterion whereby to separate the good or moderate from the bad or intemperate: having home, wife, children and work is the condition for making a good citizen. Thus emerges a subtle discrimen among the foreigners who constituted the claque, disease of the city, and which therefore deserved to be eradicated away, and the other xenoi fully incorporated into the social and citizen context within which they could safely remain.

An Analysis of the Residential Segregation of Foreigners in the Municipality of Palermo

Ethnic residential segregation in Italy is emerging as a key question, which will be crucial in the definition and implementation of both urban and social policies. This chapter focuses on this phenomenon in the Italian Metropolitan Area of Palermo. We use individual data for all the population residing in the city on 31 December 2011, organised by ethnicity and neighbourhood to describe the spatial distribution and the residential segregation of foreigners in the city, applying many different segregation measures.
