This paper intends to figure out why immigrants remit, what characteristicsthey have and, in particular, which of these individual characteristics influence (and inwhat sense) their propensity to remit. In particular, it intends to verify the existence of a"time effect" during the migration process. The time effect suppose that the propensityand the intensity of remittances becomes less consistent as far as the immigrantintegrates into the host country and the ties with the country of origin become lessintense. Se da un lato la rinnovata attenzione verso le problematiche legate ai cambiamenti climatici ha portato alla nascita di un processo dal basso che ha coinvolto milioni di giovani in tanti paesi, dall’altro l’adozione di misure estreme per bloccare i flussi migratori (sempre più, peraltro, causati nel mondo dagli stessi cambiamenti climatici), ha avviato in altrettanti paesi un processo inverso, che nega l’efficacia di un approccio globale, anzi, ne teme gli effetti.

The main subject of this article are social consequences of the results of the referendum regarding UK departure from the structures of the European Union. The author focuses on the social repercussions in the perception of British citizens and “foreigners” in the face of potential leave the European community, referred to as “Brexit”. The aim of this paper was to analyze how cultural identification, perceived discrimination and the sense of community are related to life satisfaction among foreign partners in intercultural families. The study compared 105 and 95 foreign partners in mixed families resident in Italy and Spain, respectively. The phenomenon in both countries displays similar sociodemographic aspects.
