Precision Study of η′→γπ+π− Decay Dynamics

2018

Using a low background data sample of 9.7×10^{5}  J/ψ→γη^{'}, η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} events, which are 2 orders of magnitude larger than those from the previous experiments, recorded with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the decay dynamics of η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} are studied with both model-dependent and model-independent approaches. The contributions of ω and the ρ(770)-ω interference are observed for the first time in the decays η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} in both approaches. Additionally, a contribution from the box anomaly or the ρ(1450) resonance is required in the model-dependent approach, while the process specific part of the decay amplitude is determined in the model-independent approach.

Study of thepd→pdηreaction

2007

A study of the pd{yields}pd{eta} reaction in the energy range where the recent data from Uppsala are available is done in the two-step model of {eta} production including the final state interaction. The {eta}-d final state interaction is incorporated through the solution of the Lippmann Schwinger equation using an elastic scattering matrix element, T{sub {eta}}{sub d{yields}}{sub {eta}}{sub d}, which is required to be half off-shell. It is written in a factorized form, with an off-shell form factor multiplying an on-shell part given by an effective range expansion up to the fourth power in momentum. The parameters of this expansion have been taken from an existing recent relativistic Fadde…

Measurement of K-e3(0) form factors

2004

The semi-leptonic decay of the neutral K meson $K^{0}_{L} \to \pi^{\pm}e^{\mp}\nu (K_{e3})$, was used to study the strangeness-changing weak interaction of hadrons. A sample of 5.6 million reconstructed events recorded by the NA48 experiment was used to measure the Dalitz plot density. Admitting all possible Lorentz-covariant couplings, the form factors for vector $(f_{+}(q^{2}))$, scalar $(f_{S})$ and tensor $(f_{T})$ interactions were measured. The linear slope of the vector form factor $\lambda_{+} = 0.0284 \pm 0.0007 \pm 0.0013$ and values for the ratios $|f_{S}/f_{+}(0)|=0.015^{+0.007}_{-0.010} \pm 0.012$ and $|f_{T}/f_{+}(0)|=0.05^{+0.03}_{-0.04} \pm 0.03$ were obtained. The values fo…

Measurement of the Neutron Electric to Magnetic Form Factor Ratio atQ2=1.58  GeV2Using the ReactionHe→3(e→,e′n)pp

2013

A measurement of beam helicity asymmetries in the reaction $^{3}\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{\mathrm{He}}(\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{e},{e}^{\ensuremath{'}}n)pp$ is performed at the Mainz Microtron in quasielastic kinematics to determine the electric to magnetic form factor ratio of the neutron ${G}_{E}^{n}/{G}_{M}^{n}$ at a four-momentum transfer ${Q}^{2}=1.58\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{GeV}}^{2}$. Longitudinally polarized electrons are scattered on a highly polarized $^{3}\mathrm{He}$ gas target. The scattered electrons are detected with a high-resolution magnetic spectrometer, and the ejected neutrons are detected with a dedicated neutron detector composed of scintillator ba…

Pion Form Factor Measurement and ISR at BESIII

2017

Abstract At BESIII, we measured the cross section of 900 MeV/c2 with a 2.93 fb−1 data set taken at the center-of-mass energy 3.773 GeV. The initial state radiation technique is used, and the total systematic uncertainty is estimated to be 0.9%. The squared form factor | F π | 2 is extracted, and comparisons are made with results from both KLOE and BaBar. The two-pion contribution to the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to ( g − 2 ) μ is calculated to be a μ π π , LO ( 600 − 900  MeV / c 2 ) = ( 368.2 ± 2.5 s t a t . ± 3.3 s y s t . ) ⋅ 10 − 10 .

Electromagnetic Processes and Interactions

2011

The electron, the muon, and their neutrinos are important tools in testing the structure of the fundamental electromagnetic and weak interactions. On the other hand, if these interactions are known, they serve as ideal probes for the internal structure of complex hadronic targets such as nucleons and nuclei. Although electroweak interactions should in fact be discussed as a whole and on the same footing, purely electromagnetic interactions play a distinctive role, for obvious experimental reasons: At low and intermediate energies the effective electromagnetic coupling is larger by many orders of magnitude than the weak couplings, so that electromagnetic processes are measurable to much high…

Mami Experimental Activity

1992

The Mainz Microtron MAMI is shortly described followed by a sketch of the three main experimental facilities: the Al collaboration realizing a 3-spectrometer set-up, the A2 collaboration realizing a photon tagger together with numerous dedicated detectors, and the A3 collaboration realizing a facility to use polarized electrons and polarized targets for the measurement of the electric form factor of the neutron G e,n. The physics program of the first round is outlined by listing all planned experiments.

Charge Form Factor of the Neutron at Low Momentum Transfer from theH→2(e→,e′n)H1Reaction

2008

We report new measurements of the neutron charge form factor at low momentum transfer using quasielastic electrodisintegration of the deuteron. Longitudinally polarized electrons at an energy of 850 MeV were scattered from an isotopically pure, highly polarized deuterium gas target. The scattered electrons and coincident neutrons were measured by the Bates Large Acceptance Spectrometer Toroid (BLAST) detector. The neutron form factor ratio ${G}_{E}^{n}/{G}_{M}^{n}$ was extracted from the beam-target vector asymmetry ${A}_{\mathrm{ed}}^{V}$ at four-momentum transfers ${Q}^{2}=0.14$, 0.20, 0.29, and $0.42\text{ }\text{ }(\mathrm{GeV}/c{)}^{2}$.

Measuring the Chiralities of Weak b → c(u) Transitions in Exclusive B Meson Decays

1989

I discuss possibilities to measure the chirality of the weak b → c(u) transitions in exclusive bottom meson decays in (i) the exclusive semileptonic decay process B → D* + 1 + ν1 and (ii) in the exclusive nonleptonic decays of bottom mesons to baryon-antibaryon pairs.
