NETWORK ANALYSIS OF A TOURIST DESTINATION

2014

This paper relates to the study of relationships within a tourist destination in order to prove the existence of structural models around which the entire supply system is developed. All this is made possible by the analysis of the links existing between businesses belonging to the destination. A useful tool for this purpose is Social Network Analysis (SNA), which provides a series of indicators and techniques to study the complexity of the network of relationships within a tourist destination and allows identifying the existence of a possible reference framework that can characterize the specificity of the destination. Based on the results from a previous analysis carried out in the San Vi…

Network analysys of a tourist destination

2014

We have focused on the role played by three families within the tourist destination assessing their role as an aggregating and driving force. This has been made possible by using one of the tools provided by SNA, namely Ego network analysis. This tool has allowed us to focus our attention on the role that individual businesses belonging to the three main families in San Vito Lo Capo (that we call Ego) play in the management of the destination. In particular, since the network of business relationships at this scarcely developed destination (i.e., in terms of density), the subjects are more likely to form relationships with those individuals who are acknowledged leaders. Within these tighter…

Continuum: A spatiotemporal data model to represent and qualify filiation relationships

2013

International audience; This work introduces an ontology-based spatio-temporal data model to represent entities evolving in space and time. A dynamic phenomenon generates a complex relationship network between the entities involved in the process. At the abstract level, the relationships can be identity or topological filiations. The existence of an identity filiation depends on whether the object changes its identity or not. On the other hand, topological filiations are based exclusively on the spatial component, like in the case of growth, reduction, merging or splitting. When combining identity and topological filiations, six filiation relationships are obtained, forming a second abstrac…

Collaborative Design Rational and Social Creativity in Cultures of Participation

2011

The rise in social computing has facilitated a shift from consumer cultures, focused on producing finished media to be consumed passively, to cultures of participation, where people can access the means to participate actively in personally meaningful problems. These developments represent unique and fundamental opportunities and challenges for rethinking and reinventing design rationale and creativity, as people acclimate to taking part in computer-mediated conversations of issues and their solutions. Grounded in our long-term research exploring these topics, this paper articulates arguments, describes and discusses conceptual frameworks and system developments (in the context of three cas…

1995

From a theoretical point of view, a tensorial formalism adapted to the study of molecules or octahedral ions with a half-integer angular momentum has been developed for the first time. We have used here the method of projective representations, more consistent than that of double groups. A complete set of coupling coefficients and formulas, as well as the corresponding computing programs have been elaborated. This has firstly allowed to write a simple model describing the vibronic structure of colored hexafluorides. Then, somme applications of this formalism to the study of rovibronic couplings of XY6 molecules in a fourfold degenerate electronic state have been considered, especially conce…

Creating an image of people with disabilities in formal education. Analysis of the textbooks used in the chosen European countries

2016

Creating an image of people with disabilities in formal education is an important element of educating young people into a full and unbiased understanding of the needs and reality of these people. Consequently, it is an element of creating a social climate around people with disabilities and influencing state policy in this area. Therefore, I find it extremely important to analyse and compare ideas worked out in different countries in order to correctly assess our own situation and find inspiring and applicable solutions. In the text, I focused on one component of the system of formal education, i.e. selected textbooks used in Poland and Sweden in which I highlighted their disability-relate…

Zabieg medycyny estetycznej w przypadku małoletniego dziecka bez zgody sądu rodzinnego a odpowiedzialność prawnokarna

2017

This article refers to criminal liability for performing aesthetic medicine treatment in a form of plastic surgery without patient’s consent, substitute consent (including collective) or substitute consent of Family Court. Article presents the current state of law in this respect and the correlation between applicable regulations of various branches of law and lex generalis regulations that deal with this issue, i.e. aesthetic medicine treatment. The author evaluates and describes the legal issues related with aesthetic medicine, including the patient’s consent, extended disclosure obligation as well as the ground for statutory liability for committing a prohibited act that is described and …

Spherical Top Theory and Molecular Spectra

2011

In this article, we present an overview of the present state of the art of the theory of high-resolution spherical-top spectra in the framework of the effective Hamiltonian approach. We describe the specific features of this class of molecules to explain the basic concepts of the theoretical methods used for the analysis (line positions and intensities) and the simulation of absorption (including pure rotation) and Raman spectra of such species. The non conventional formalism that we use is essentially based on irreducible tensor methods and is especially adapted to computational treatments and global analyses of complex interacting band systems. We give examples concerning mainly methane (…
