A Lexicon-based Approach for Sentiment Classification of Amazon Books Reviews in Italian Language

We present a system aimed at the automatic classification of the sentiment orientation expressed into book reviews written in Italian language. The system we have developed is found on a lexicon-based approach and uses NLP techniques in order to take into account the linguistic relation between terms in the analyzed texts. The classification of a review is based on the average sentiment strenght of its sentences, while the classification of each sentence is obtained through a parsing process inspecting, for each term, a window of previous items to detect particular combinations of elements giving inversions or variations of polarity. Social interaction in management group meetings: a case study of Finnish hospital.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to understand the role of management group meetings (MGMs) in hospital organization by examining the social interaction in these meetings. Design/methodology/approach – This case study approaches social interaction from a structuration point of view. Social network analysis and qualitative content analysis are applied. Findings – The findings show that MGMs are mainly forums for information sharing. Meetings are not held for problem solving or decision making, and operational coordinating is limited. Nonlinear femtosecond pulse propagation in an all-solid photonic bandgap fiber

Nonlinear femtosecond pulse propagation in an all-solid photonic bandgap fiber is experimentally and numerically investigated. Guiding light in such fiber occurs via two mechanisms: photonic bandgap in the central silica core or total internal reflection in the germanium doped inclusions. By properly combining spectral filtering, dispersion tailoring and pump coupling into the fiber modes, we experimentally demonstrate efficient supercontinuum generation with controllable spectral bandwidth.

Le temps semble a l’alliance de la litterature et des sciences sociales. Mais les modalites en sont encore incertaines. Au lieu de considerer l’anthropologie comme une forme de litterature, on peut envisager la litterature comme une enquete. Cette « litterature d’investigation » se donne notamment pour objectif de documenter des formes de vie et de monter des dispositifs rendant compte d’aspects inapercus de phenomenes sociaux. Elle occupe ainsi une position intermediaire : elle se menage a la fois une liberte et une creativite relatives vis-a-vis des protocoles d’enquete propres aux sciences sociales et une certaine mefiance pour un respect trop reverencieux envers la litterature.
