The uppermost Miocene, Esbarrondadoiro Formation (Alvalade basin, Portugal) yielded more than 10 thousandSelachian teeth at Santa Margarida, Esbarrondadoiro and Vale de Zebro outcrops. Forty-five taxa were identifiedbelonging to the orders Hexanchiformes, Squaliformes, Lamniformes, Carcharhiniformes, Torpediniformes and Myliobatiformes. In the south-east of France, the first Bell Beaker expansion is manifested by the presence of isolated ceramics but also by a series of settlements established in contact with the indigenous populations. Analysis of the assemblages, their composition and their distribution makes it possible to propose a model of the appearance and development of the Bell Beaker phenomenon but also the probable origin of the elements present in this area.

Around 2 500 BC, drinking beakers with a characteristic pattern appeared in diverse areas of Europe. They are frequently associated with other kinds of materials, like specific ornaments and weapons. This set defines what is called the Bell Beaker phenomenon. In Southern France, more than 600 sites are known. In this very rich European study area, it is possible to study the nature and origin of this phenomenon, and question its poten-tial exogenous components, its modes of establishment and development, and its rela-tionship with local groups that had already settled in the South of France. In this work, we demonstrate that stromal interaction molecule 1 (STIM1), a sensor of Ca2+ depletion in the endoplasmic reticulum, mediates fatty acid–induced Ca2+ signaling in the mouse tongue and fat preference. We showed that linoleic acid (LA) induced the production of arachidonic acid (AA) and lysophosphatidylcholine (Lyso-PC) by activating multiple phospholipase A2 isoforms via CD36. This activation triggered Ca2+ influx in lingual CD36-positive taste bud cells (TBCs) purified from mouse CVP. LA also induced the production of Ca2+ influx factor (CIF). Abstract Introduction This is the report of the first official survey from the Italian Society of Pediatric Surgery (ISPS) to appraise the distribution and organization of bedside surgery in the neonatal intensive care units (NICU) in Italy. Methods A questionnaire requesting general data, staff data and workload data of the centers was developed and sent by means of an online cloud-based software instrument to all Italian pediatric surgery Units. Results The survey was answered by 34 (65%) out of 52 centers. NICU bedside surgery is reported in 81.8% of the pediatric surgery centers.
