Thermoconvective instability and local thermal non-equilibrium in a porous layer with isoflux-isothermal boundary conditions

The effects of lack of local thermal equilibrium between the solid phase and the fluid phase are taken into account for the convective stability analysis of a horizontal porous layer. The layer is bounded by a pair of plane parallel walls which are impermeable and such that the lower wall is subject to a uniform flux heating, while the upper wall is isothermal. The local thermal non-equilibrium is modelled through a two-temperature formulation of the energy exchange between the phases, resulting in a pair of local energy balance equations: one for each phase. Finite element method for a nonlocal Timoshenko beam model

A finite element method is presented for a nonlocal Timoshenko beam model recently proposed by the authors. The model relies on the key idea that nonlocal effects consist of long-range volume forces and moments exchanged by non-adjacent beam segments, which contribute to the equilibrium of a beam segment along with the classical local stress resultants. In this review, an analysis focusing on mycotoxin determination in infant breast milk and infant food has been summarised for the last fifteen years of research focused on the intended population group of 1–9 months. The objective was to know the level of exposure of the child population to an estimated daily intake (EDI) of mycotoxins from the consumption of habitual foods. The EDI was compared with the tolerable daily intake (TDI) established by EFSA to estimate risk. In breast milk, the high prevalence and levels were for samples from Africa (Egypt and Tanzania) with aflatoxin M1 (1.9 μg/L and 10%), and Asia (Iran) with ochratoxin-A (7.3 μg/L and 100%). In this study, an analytical method to determine six previous termperfluorinatednext term compounds (PFCs) based on alkaline digestion and solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by liquid chromatography-quadrupole-linear ion trap mass spectrometry (LC-QqLIT-MS) was validated for the analysis of human breast milk, milk previous terminfantnext term formulas and cereals baby food. Portable central baffle flume

This paper investigated the hydraulic characteristics of the triangular central baffle (TCB) flume. Laboratory tests were carried out to determine the flume dimensions. The field applicability of the proposed portable device was examined by on-farm installation. According to the laboratory tests, when the contraction ratio, r, was less than 0.39, the flow capacity was not affected by the ratio between the flume’s floor height and the throat width. The laboratory analysis also showed that there was no significant effect of installing an entrance ramp on the stage-discharge relationship for r<0.39, while the entrance ramp increased the discharge capacity for r>0.39. Esta construcción está estrechamente relacionada con otros tipos de curvas como, por ejemplo, curvas paralelas, curvas de anchura constante o curvas de bicicletas.
