Monotonicity Formulas for Harmonic Functions in RCD(0,N) Spaces

We generalize to the RCD(0,N) setting a family of monotonicity formulas by Colding and Minicozzi for positive harmonic functions in Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature. Rigidity and almost rigidity statements are also proven, the second appearing to be new even in the smooth setting. Motivated by the recent work in Agostiniani et al. (Invent. Math. 222(3):1033–1101, 2020), we also introduce the notion of electrostatic potential in RCD spaces, which also satisfies our monotonicity formulas. Calculation of the conformational dependence of valence and Rydberg states in n-tetrasilane

Abstract Previous CIS/6-31G ∗∗ and CASSCF/6-31G ∗ calculations of valence excited states of n -tetrasilane accounted qualitatively for the observed conformational dependence of condensed-phase UV absorption spectra. In an attempt to understand this result, we have performed CIS calculations with a larger basis set (MC-311G(2d) on Si, 6-311G on H, and 2s, 2p, and 2d diffuse orbitals at molecular center of mass). The first two excited states are of valence character at all dihedral angles if the molecule is isolated. Una scuola buona ha il compito di formare persone adeguatamente colte. Qui tale compito viene inteso come educazione del pensare, ossia formazione dell'intelligenza e della ragione. La prima tesi argomentata nel saggio è che l'aspetto determinante di quest'opera formativa è costituita dalla coltivazione dell'intelligenza, intesa come capacità del soggetto di vedere. L'impegno maggiore del saggio è però nell'interpretare la fenomenologia come una pratica di ricerca del senso costituita al fondo da un affinamento dell'intelligenza.

Recently, we have reported that glycol chitosan (GCS) was able to reverse the P- glycoprotein (P-gp) efflux pump. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the potential of two GCS-based dosage forms (aqueous solution or nanoparticle suspension) for oral administration of the P-gp substrate Rho-123. A further aim of the present study was to assess the effect of the glycol chitosan-4-thiobutylamidine thiomer (GCS-TBA) on P-gp activity considering that the corresponding thiomer of chitosan series is a well-known P-gp inhibitor. An implicit mesh discontinuous Galerkin formulation for higher-order plate theories

In this work, a discontinuous Galerkin formulation for higher-order plate theories is presented. The starting point of the formulation is the strong form of the governing equations, which are derived in the context of the Generalized Unified Formulation and the Equivalent Single Layer approach from the Principle of Virtual Displacements. To express the problem within the discontinuous Galerkin framework, an auxiliary flux variable is introduced and the governing equations are rewritten as a system of first-order partial differential equations, which are weakly stated over each mesh element.
