Aims: Oxidative stress is involved in the development of cardiovascular disease. There is a growing body of evidence for a crosstalk between different enzymatic sources of oxidative stress. With the present study, we sought to determine the underlying crosstalk mechanisms, the role of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP), and its link to endothelial dysfunction. Results: NADPH oxidase (Nox) activation (oxidative burst and translocation of cytosolic Nox subunits) was observed in response to mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (mtROS) formation in human leukocytes. AbstractRegional conflicts increasingly require multilevel efforts by regional, subregional, and international actors. When states are confronted with a cooperation problem, often there are several institutions available to address this issue. Drawing on the literature of overlapping regionalism and forum-shopping, we argue that existing explanatory models benefit from adding power-based explanations. By conceptualizing an issue-specific dimension and factors specific to the national environment as additional power-based criteria for forum-shopping, we expand the existing literature. Es convidà als alumnes a participar per a introduir-los dins d’un marc d’aprenentatge col·laboratiu mitjançant l’intercanvi d’experiències, l’autogestió dels problemes sorgits i la proposició de solucions per a eixos problemes. This paper gives account of two sondages which were conducted to add some concrete evidences to the hypotesis of the existence of a new Forum in the unexcavated area beyond the Decumanus of Sabratha, North to the Temple of Hercules. The chronological hiatus between the Ist and the VIth Century A.D. could confirm the hypothesis of a change in the use of the area from a block of private houses to an open public space in direct connection with the construction of the Temple of Hercules. A conspicuos alteration of the stratigraphic sequence was caused by the three burials. A cippus with a cross would have marked a christian zone of the cemetery. The aim of this descriptive study was to find out how people describe their experiences of physical education (PE) in Internet discussion forums. The data for this study were collected during one randomly chosen week in April 2007 via a GoogleTM search using the Finnish word ‘koululiikunta’ [school PE]. The first 200 hits lead into nine discussion forums, which were analysed by using qualitative content analysis. These nine discussion forums included all together 356 messages. Among the sculptures of the Museo Civico of Termini Imerese that were published by Nicola Bonacasa in 1960, a female portrait head of a Julio-Claudian princess is remarkable for its excellent workmanship. The paper deals with the problem of the identification of the subject, variously referred to as Agrippina I, Agrippina II, Messalina or Drusilla, according to the interpretation of the portrait series “Glyptothek of Munich 316- Caere” to which the head belongs.
