High-precision mass measurements of 25Al and 30P at JYFLTRAP

The masses of the astrophysically relevant nuclei 25Al and 30P have been measured with a Penning trap for the first time. The mass-excess values for 25Al ( $\Delta = -8915.962(63)$ keV) and 30P ( $\Delta = -20200.854(64)$ keV) obtained with the JYFLTRAP double Penning trap mass spectrometer are in good agreement with the Atomic Mass Evaluation 2012 values but $ \approx$ 5-10 times more precise. A high precision is required for calculating resonant proton-capture rates of astrophysically important reactions 25Al (p, $ \gamma$ )26Si and 30P(p, $ \gamma$ )31S . Baltais fosfors ir molekulārs kristāls, kas sastāv no tetraedra formas P4 molekulām, kuru savstarpējais izkārtojums kristāliskajā režģī mainās, pārejot starp trim pazīstamajām fāzēm: α; β; γ. Materiāls ir pazīstams jau sen, taču kā molekulārs kristāls tas ir pētīts salīdzinoši maz, it īpaši ar svārstību spektroskopijas metodēm, kas, piemēram, spētu apstiprināt vai noliegt no rentgenstaru difrakcijas iegūto kristālisko struktūru pareizību. Šajā darbā eksperimentāli iegūti baltā fosfora α un β fāzu Ramana izkliedes spektri pie dažādām temperatūrām apgabalā no -125°C līdz -20°C. Near-Infrared emission of O2 embedded in amorphous SiO2 nanoparticles

We report an experimental study on the emission properties of O2 molecules loaded by a thermal diffusion process at 200 °C into high-purity silica nanoparticles with mean diameters of 7 and 40 nm. The embedded O2 features a singlet to triplet emission band peaked at 1272 nm in agreement with the band observed for bulk silica materials. The photoluminescence excitation spectra have been determined in the visible and in the infrared range and are characterized by narrow bands peaked at 691, 764,and 1069 nm, respectively. The influence of pulsed redox conditions on soil phosphorus

Abstract. The effects of eleven pulsed reduction-oxidation cycles (20 and 2 days, respectively) on soil phosphorus (P) dynamics are compared for 12 soils having contrasting properties and overfertilised with respect to P. Incubation conditions simulated transient waterlogging of the soil profile and involved repeated sampling and analysis of both the solution and solid phase P forms. Purification of recovered phosphoric acid by extracting aluminium with di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid

AbstractThe extraction of aluminium from dilute phosphoric acid with di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (DEHPA) was optimized using response surface methodology. The optimization was based on the experimental three-level central composite face-centred design (CCF) and was conducted on real-life samples. The three variables included were pH, extractant concentration and aqueous to organic phase ratio (AO). Under the optimized conditions (pH 2.5, 0.6 M DEHPA and AO ratio 1:2), extraction efficiency of 99% for aluminium in four extraction stages is achieved. Using 12 well-characterised European soils contrasting in their physical and chemical properties, we demonstrate significant differences in the partitioning of phosphorus (P) between various particle size separates. Samples of each soil were subjected to one of three methods of increasingly aggressive dispersion in the order water (WD), mechanical (MD) or chemical (CD).
