Catalytic and catalytic photo-assisted dehydration of 2-propanol to form propene in gas-solid regime at atmospheric pressure and 80°C was carried out by using a Keggin heteropolyacid H3PW12O40 (PW12) supported on different oxides. Binary materials have been prepared by impregnation of PW12 on different commercial and home prepared supports (TiO2, SiO2 or carbon nanotubes). The supported Keggin PW12 species played a key role both for the catalytic and the photo-assisted catalytic reactions, due to their strong acidity and ability to form strong oxidant species under UV irradiation, respectively. Attività catalitica e fotocatalitica di eteropoliacidi Wells-Dawson e Keggin per la disidratazione del 2-propanolo in regime gas-solido

Tra i più studiati poliossometallati (nanoagglomerati di ossigeno con metalli transizionali), figurano gli eteropoliacidi (EPA) che sono degli acidi inorganici forti con ben defin ite strutture molecolari. In funzione della loro geometria, essi vengono classificati come Keggin e Wells-Dawson. Gli (EPA) sono usati in catalisi omogenea ed eterogenea e funzionano anche come fotocatalizzatori, essenzialmente in sistemi omogenei. Questi materiali sono, inoltre, economici e non tossici.

In questo lavoro è stata studiata la foto-riduzione del CO2 sotto irraggiamento con luce UV-Visibile, accoppiando per la prima volta la tecnologia del reattore continuo a membrana con l’utilizzo di catalizzatori a base di C3N4 puro o compositi C3N4-TiO2 dispersi in una matrice polimerica di Nafion.
