Prefazione al romanzo di Jumoke Verissimo, Memoria e desiderio

A well established and renowned poet residing in Canada, Jumoke Verissimo debuted with her first novel, A Small Silence, in 2019. The Preface to the Italian edition elucidates how in Verissimo's fictional account of a dissident intellectual released from prison after the end of Abacha's dictatorship, and in his friendship with a young woman studying at the local University, we find a portrait of today's Nigeria trying to survive its post-independence, post-colonial, post-dictatorship era.

The study aims to reflect on the training of future primary school teachers by starting from the use of the e-portfolio as an innovative tool to promote the acquisition of reflective and self-evaluation competence within the flipped classroom. The research involved 154 students of Primary Education Master’s Degree Course of the University of Palermo attending to the Docimology course during the academic year 2020/2021. This paper presents the theoretical assumptions objectives and operating methods of a path that made the use of the e-portfolio in flipped classroom to promote the development of docimological skills in higher education. It was hypothesized that the training intervention designed according to the principles of the flippmethodology and through the use of the e-portfolio would have contributed to the development of students’ self-evaluation skills during the 30 hours of the Docimology course.Settore M-PED/04 - Pedagogia Sperimentale

Per studiare dal punto di vista della geografia culturale alcuni aspetti del pellegrinaggio a Santiago de Compostela, in Spagna, il capitolo prende in considerazione un testo letterario, il romanzo autobiografico "La ballata dei pellegrini" della scrittrice francese Edith De La Héronnière, pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1993 e tradotto in italiano nel 2004. Il romanzo racconta l’esperienza del pellegrinaggio giacobeo effettuato dall’autrice negli anni Novanta assieme a tre compagni di viaggio partendo da un cammino francese. The contribution critically and from a geographical perspective discusses the connection between propaganda comics and cartoons in the period of twentieth-century totalitarianisms. The way in which space real and symbolic is implicated through the rhetoric and dialectics of power in social economic and identity dynamics is then explored. In order to study some aspects of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela from the point of view of cultural geography in Spain the chapter takes into consideration a literary text the autobiographical novel "The pilgrims' ballad" by the French writer Edith De La Héronnière first published in 1993 and translated into Italian in 2004. The novel recounts the experience of the Jacobean pilgrimage carried out by the author in the nineties together with three traveling companions starting from a French journey. In particular through the analysis of some parts of the text the ways in which the narration constructs and describes the physical and symbolic space of the pilgrimage are investigated. In this way it is possible to explore the way in which peculiar attributions of meaning inscribe the experience of pilgrimage in a symbolic universe that is both personal and collective at the same time.

Per commemorare la battaglia del 27 maggio 1860, L’Amministrazione di Palermo nel 1910 decise di realizzare un monumento. Si scelse il centro di una grande piazza circolare che avrebbe costituito la parte terminale di una elegante arteria ai margini della città a cui il monumento avrebbe fatto da fondale. La realizzazione del monumento fu affidata a Ernesto Basile che progettò anche la sistemazione a giardino del piano, oltre il quale correva una strada circolare che delimitava e concludeva la piazza. The incidence of acute and chronic liver damage and its relation to hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection was evaluated in 164 consecutive children with acute leukemia seen in ten Italian hemato-pediatric units. Thirteen out of 164 children (7.9%) had acute hepatitis (AH) during treatment, while 8/90 (8.8%) showed an acute exacerbation of liver damage within 6 months after therapy withdrawal. Seven of the 13 children with AH while on therapy were HBsAg positive. In 12/13 cases, liver disease progressed to chronicity. Underwater photogrammetry provides a means of generating high-resolution products such as dense point clouds, 3D models, and orthomosaics with centimetric scale resolutions. Underwater photogrammetric models can be used to monitor the growth and expansion of benthic communities, including the assessment of the conservation status of seagrass beds and their change over time (time lapse micro-bathymetry) with OBIA classifications (Object-Based Image Analysis). This article proposes a study of the traditions in defensive architecture that concurred in the projects designed by Spanish military engineers for the fortification of the Valencian frontier in 1648 and 1649, in the context of the War of Catalonia (1640-1652). For this it is essential to follow the route of the Valencian adaptations to the military revolution in the matter of fortifications throughout the sixteenth century and compare them with those brought to Valencia in 1641 by the Marquis of Leganes and his engineers from the school of Milan.
