Transition to adulthood and recession: a qualitative study

While the transition to adulthood has been broadly examined, less is known about the impact of economic recession on the well-being and psychosocial functioning of young people. The present study used qualitative interviews with 12 college students to understand their experience. Consensual qualitative research was used to analyse data and develop core themes around young people’s experiences. Interviews focused on how young people perceived the impact of the economic recession on their social context and on emotional, behavioural, and interpersonal dimensions. Pētījuma „Sociālā funkcionēšana pēc aortas vārstuļa protezēšanas vēlīnajā pēcoperācijas periodā” mērķis ir izpētīt sociālo funkcionēšanu pēc aortas vārstuļa protezēšanas vēlīnajā pēcoperācijas periodā un noteikt baiļu iespējamo ietekmi sociālās funkcionēšanas rādītājos. Kvantitatīvā pētījuma rezultātā hipotēzes tiek galvenokārt apstiprinātas. Iegūtie dati raksturo fizisko un emocionālo pašsajūtu, attiecības ar līdzcilvēkiem un dzīvesveidu pēc aortas vārstuļa protezēšanas, kā arī baiļu ietekmi uz šiem rādītājiem. In this simulation study, we investigate the power and Type I error rate of a procedure based on the mean and covariance structure analysis (MACS) model in detecting differential item functioning (DIF) of graded response items with five response categories. The following factors were manipulated: type of DIF (uniform and non-uniform), DIF magnitude (low, medium and large), equality/inequality of latent trait distributions, sample size (100, 200, 400, and 800) and equality or inequality of the sample sizes across groups. Abstract The purpose of this study was to evaluate parents and teachers behavior rating measures of executive functions (EFs) in everyday activities in ADHD children, predominantly inattentive (ADHD-PI) and combined type (ADHD-CT), relative to their typically developing peers. Sixteen children with ADHD combined type and fourteen with ADHD predominantly inattentive type were age- and gender-matched to thirteen typically developing peers.
