Based on an ethnographic approach, this paper explores how members of a new age spiritual movement known as ?Llave Mariana? (LLM) build and experience their bodies. At the same time, it develops a thick description of their ritual practices and later it analyzes, delving fundamentally into the phenomenological perspective, how these members shape and transform their forms of self-perception, experience, and representation of others and the environment. Finally, it considers the implications these spiritual practices have in the search and consolidation of alternative ways of being-in-the-world
Can we automate expert-based journal rankings? Analysis of the Finnish publication indicator

The publication indicator of the Finnish research funding system is based on a manual ranking of scholarly publication channels. These ranks, which represent the evaluated quality of the channels, are continuously kept up to date and thoroughly reevaluated every four years by groups of nominated scholars belonging to different disciplinary panels. This expert-based decision-making process is informed by available citation-based metrics and other relevant metadata characterizing the publication channels. Tämä tutkielma käsittelee tiedon ja taidon suhdetta pragmatistisessa tietoteoriassa samalla sivuten kasvatusfilosofiaa. Tieto ja taito nähdään pragmatismissa yhteenkietoutuneina. Väitän, että tämä pitäisi ottaa huomioon koulutusjärjestelmäämme pohtiessa. Tutkielman kannalta tärkein argumenttini on pragmatismin väite, ettei tietoa voi nähdä toiminnasta erillisenä. Täten erilaiset tietämisen tavat tulevat lähemmäksi toisiaan. Tutkielman alussa avaan tiedon suhdetta toimintaan. INTRODUCCIÓN: La incidencia anual estimada de la enfermedad tromboembólica venosa en la población europea se sitúa entre 104-183 por 100.000 personas/año. La embolia de pulmón es consecuencia generalmente de la emigración de un trombo desde el sistema venoso profundo hasta el pulmón, aunque tal y como se ha argumentado en diferentes ocasiones, también podría formarse in situ. Según algunos estudios la incidencia de embolia pulmonar sin trombosis venosa profunda varía entre el 20% y el 50%. Innovation expectations and patenting in private and public R&D projects

peer-reviewed In this paper, we investigate how the innovation expectations of public financiers are related to realized patents. The analysis is based on a novel dataset of collaborative R&D projects subsidized by the Finnish Agency of Technology and Innovation (Tekes) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) during the period 2000–2004. Innovation expectations are measured using reports submitted by Tekes experts during ex ante assessments of projects. The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships between enjoyment, perceived competence, fundamental movement skills, and physical activity engagement of Grade 7 students participating in Finnish physical education. A secondary aim of the study was to examine gender differences in all assessed variables. The participants of the study were 404 Grade 7 students aged 13 years.
