A-Codes from Rational Functions over Galois Rings

2006

In this paper, we describe authentication codes via (generalized) Gray images of suitable codes over Galois rings. Exponential sums over these rings help determine--or bound--the parameters of such codes.

Hurwitz spaces of Galois coverings of P1, whose Galois groups are Weyl groups

2006

Abstract We prove the irreducibility of the Hurwitz spaces which parametrize equivalence classes of Galois coverings of P 1 , whose Galois group is an arbitrary Weyl group, and the local monodromies are reflections. This generalizes a classical theorem due to Luroth, Clebsch and Hurwitz.

Irreducible Finitary Lie Algebras over Fields of Characteristic Zero

1998

Abstract A Lie subalgebraLof g l K (V) is said to befinitaryif it consists of elements of finite rank. We show that if Char  K  = 0, if dim K  Vis infinite, and ifLacts irreducibly onV, then the derived algebra ofLis simple.

Linear invariants of Riemannian almost product manifolds

1982

Using the decomposition of a certain vector space under the action of the structure group of Riemannian almost product manifolds, A. M. Naveira (9) has found thirty-six distinguished classes of these manifolds. In this article, we prove that this decomposition is irreducible by computing a basis of the space of invariant quadratic forms on such a space.

The parameterized local deduction theorem for quasivarieties of algebras and its application

1996

Let τ be an algebraic type. To each classK of τ-algebras a consequence relation ⊧ K defined on the set of τ-equations is assigned. Some weak forms of the deduction theorem for ⊧ K and their algebraic counterparts are investigated. The (relative) congruence extension property (CEP) and its variants are discussed.CEP is shown to be equivalent to a parameter-free form of the deduction theorem for the consequence ⊧ K .CEP has a strong impact on the structure ofK: for many quasivarietiesK,CEP implies thatK is actually a variety. This phenomenon is thoroughly discussed in Section 5. We also discuss first-order definability of relative principal congruences. This property is equivalent to the fact…

A meshfree method for transverse vibrations of anisotropic plates

2003

A meshfree approach, called displacement boundary method, for anisotropic Kirchhoff plate dynamic analysis is presented. This method is deduced from a variational principle, which uses a modified hybrid functional involving the generalized displacements and generalized tractions on the boundary and the lateral deflection in the domain as independent variables. The discretization process is based on the employment of the fundamental solutions of the static problem operator for the expression of the variables involved in the functional. The stiffness and mass matrices obtained for the dynamic model are frequency-independent, symmetric and positive definite and their computation involves bound…

A Boundary/Interior Element Discretization Method for the Analysis of Two- and Three-Dimensional Elastic-Plastic Structures

1992

A coupled boundary/interior element method is presented for the analysis of elastic-plastic structures with material models endowed of dual internal variables. The domain field modelling is limited to the only plastic strains and strain-like internal variables, represented by their node values at a set of strain points in each interior element. The formulation, based on a Galerkin-type approach, is variationally consistent and leads to a fully symmetric-definite equation system. The backward difference method is adopted for the step-by-step integration procedure, and each step is addressed by an iterative predictor/corrector solution scheme. The analysis method is expected to be most approp…

Algorithmic approaches to Siegel's fundamental domain

2017

Siegel determined a fundamental domain using the Minkowski reduction of quadratic forms. He gave all the details concerning this domain for genus 1. It is the determination of the Minkowski fundamental domain presented as the second condition and the maximal height condition, presented as the third condition, which prevents the exact determination of this domain for the general case. The latest results were obtained by Gottschling for the genus 2 in 1959. It has since remained unexplored and poorly understood, in particular the different regions of Minkowski reduction. In order to identify Siegel's fundamental domain for genus 3, we present some results concerning the third condition of thi…

Per una Carta de Drets Socials com a procés de construcció de la ciutadania social comunitària

2012

The public system of Social Services is suffering an unprecedented government attack, using the global crisis as an excuse. Their plan is to ruin the social achievements that are the foundations of our Democracy, just when the social inequality is so blatant. Therefore, we would like to do our bit by proposing the implementation of a new process that contributes to strengthen the Community participation.

EU Migration policy to the test of fundamental rights

2021

The emergence of a common migration policy is recent, as the European Union tackles the issue of migration only belatedly. Common actions to regulate migration issues were implemented gradually from the 1970s, within a purely intergovernmental framework, then gradually within a common framework. This policy covers aspects relating to the entry and stay of third-country nationals on the territory of the European Union, the fight against irregular immigration and the control of external borders. The process of Europeanization of immigration and asylum rules has been a long and laborious one, and it remains unfinished due to states' attachment to their sovereignty. This is why the European Unio…
