Proces selekcji kandydatów partii politycznych w wyborach Prezydenta RP – motywacje, dylematy, strategie

2022

Porusz…

The Winding Road to Accessing the Voices of One Thousand Schoolchildren : A Nexus Analysis of Collecting Data for a Survey

2021

This article describes a nexus analysis of the lengthy, complex process of negotiating access to schools for a research project surveying 1,002 children (aged 9–12 years) about their digital and language practices. The analysis distinguished layers of adult-centered gatekeeping, each of which needed to be tackled in sequence. Bottlenecks particularly arose at the gatekeeping stage, in which superintendents of schools decided whether to grant research access to schools. Factors facilitating the research process included the hybrid data collection design, the procedures for obtaining parental consent, and the active collaboration with the children themselves. A significant discourse emerged a…

Development of functionalized SYBR green II related cyanine dyes for viral RNA detection

2020

Abstract Fluorescent probes for sensing nucleic acids have found widespread use in the field of cell and molecular biology. However, probes combined with potential for post-synthetic conjugation, e.g. for intra-endosomal measurements of RNA, are unavailable. Herein we developed cyanine dyes that can be conjugated to viral capsid or other targets. First, we solved the crystal structure of SYBR Green II. The structural elucidation of this commonly used RNA probe provided the basis for synthesizing similar molecules with much desired function for post-synthetic conjugation. To address this need, cyanine dyes were prepared using an alternative synthesis protocol. All studied compounds showed co…

Possibilistic Programming and Gas for Aggregate Production Planning under Vague Information

1999

In production planning activities, aggregate planning is surely the phase where the lack of information is more relevant. The reasons for that can be summarised in: a) the planning product is an aggregate one, very often not corresponding to actual products; b) the delay from the actual production is relevant so that information regarding actual production resources availability and performances are vague; c) the planning activity is often based on forecasts. On the other hand, all the subsequent production planning activities are based on the result of aggregate planning. In the paper a research going on at the Workgroup for Soft Computing Application in Manufacturing is presented. A Decis…

Remote, web-based laboratory for Programmable Logic Devices

2009

Abstract This work proposes a web-based laboratory for remotely testing FPGA programs on an evaluation board. Using a web browser, the user can download a device configuration file (previously generated with the FPGA commercial tool) and test it in a real FPGA board located in a remote laboratory at the University facilities. The user can control inputs and check outputs’ state. This preliminary study tries to evaluate the possibilities that can be offered to the user, and the restrictions that might apply. Additionally, it describes the proposed infrastructure (hardware and software) needed to successfully deal with all the interesting features that a remote lab system for programmable log…

Trans-10, cis-12 conjugated linoleic acid induced cell death in human colon cancer cells through reactive oxygen species-mediated ER stress

2013

Dietary conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) are fatty acid isomers with anticancer activities produced naturally in ruminants or from vegetable oil processing. The anticancer effects of CLA differ upon the cancer origin and the CLA isomers. In this study, we carried out to precise the effects of CLA isomers, c9,t11 and t10,c12 CLA, on mechanisms of cell death induction in colon cancer cells. We first showed that only t10,c12 CLA treatment (25 and 50μM) for 72h triggered apoptosis in colon cancer cells without affecting viability of normal-derived colon epithelial cells. Exposure of colon cancer cells to t10,c12 CLA activated ER stress characterized by induction of eIF2α phoshorylation, splicing…

Caspase 3 Targeted Cargo Delivery in Apoptotic Cells Using Capped Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles

2015

[EN] Excessive apoptotic cell death is at the origin of several pathologies, such as degenerative disorders, stroke or ischemia-reperfusion damage. In this context, strategies to improve inhibition of apoptosis and other types of cell death are of interest and may represent a pharmacological opportunity for the treatment of cell-death-related disorders. In this scenario new peptide-containing delivery systems (solids S1-P1and S1-P2) are described based on meso-porous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) loaded with a dye and capped with the KKGDEVDKKARDEVDK (P1) peptide that contains two repeats of the DEVD target sequence that are selectively hydrolyzed by caspase3 (C3). This enzyme plays a central…

Statechart-based design controllers for FPGA partial reconfiguration

2015

Statechart diagram and UML technique can be a vital part of early conceptual modeling. At the present time there is no much support in hardware design methodologies for reconfiguration features of reprogrammable devices. Authors try to bridge the gap between imprecise UML model and formal HDL description. The key concept in author's proposal is to describe the behavior of the digital controller by statechart diagrams and to map some parts of the behavior into reprogrammable logic by means of group of states which forms sequential automaton. The whole process is illustrated by the example with experimental results.
