Modeling and designing a robotic swarm: A quantum computing approach

Nature is a neverending source of inspiration for technology. Quantum physics suggests applications to- ward quantum computing. Swarms’ self-organization leads to robotic swarm developments. Here, quantum computing is applied to swarm robotics. We model local interactions with a quantum circuit, testing it on simulators and quantum computers. To relate local with global behavior, we develop a block matrix-based model. Diagonal sub-matrices contain information on single robots; off-diagonal sub-matrices are the pairwise interaction terms. The first part of this thesis is about adiabatic quantum processes designed for the implementation of quantum logic gates, the elementary components of quantumcomputers, by the interaction of pulsed laser fields with atoms. The adiabaticmethods allow robust processes, i.e. which are not sensitive to the fluctuationsof experimental parameters. The processes described in this thesis only requireaccurate control of the polarisations and the relative static phases of thelaser fields. The present paper provides extensions to the well-known generalized Φ-conjugacy and Γ-polarity of diverse results of our previous work [2] related to φ-conjucacy and Λ-polarity, where Λ is a subset of a vector space E and φ is a function on E defining the particular coupling function (x,y)→φ(x−y) on E × E. A particular attention is devoted to the conjugacy functions (resp. polarity sets) which are mutually generating. Finally, for a superadditive conjugacy function Φ, we obtain a full description of the class of Φ-envelopes.
The use of pumice lightweight concrete for masonry applications

In the last two decades, the use of pumice as lightweight aggregate for concrete in structural applications has been the object of different studies. The aim was to find out if pumice can be an alternative to ordinary lightweight aggregate. The present paper is framed in this context. Here, a study is presented showing the use of pumice for making lightweight concrete units for masonry members. Through the paper, the formulation of a mix design for lightweight concrete is proposed. Then the obtained mechanical characteristics of the masonry units are discussed and compared to the code requirements. Surrogacy relationships: a critical interpretative review

Abstract Based on a critical interpretative review of existing qualitative research investigating accounts of ‘lived experience’ of surrogates and intended parents from a relational perspective, this article proposes a typology of surrogacy arrangements. The review is based on the analysis of 39 articles, which belong to a range of different disciplines (mostly sociology, social psychology, anthropology, ethnology, and gender studies). The number of interviews in each study range from as few as seven to over one hundred. Instytucja podmiotu zobowiązanego do zwrotu korzyści majątkowej poprzednio była uregulowana w art. 52 Kodeksu karnego1 oraz art. 416 Kodeksu postępowania karnego2. Przepisy te zostały uchylone, jednak po około dwóch latach ustawodawca powrócił do wspomnianego rozwiązania w art. 91a i art. 415a k.p.k.
