In order to limit the spread of COVID-19, states have gradually implemented restrictions mandating school and kindergarten closures, postponing academic semesters and prohibiting visits to nursing homes to protect the elderly, borders were closed, states prohibited physical contact with more than one person from outside one's household, and other restrictions.
