AbstractThe debate over the value of the image of a city, which since the 1960s has been gaining wider room for reflection, has arisen as a criticism against the reductionism of the Modern Movement and highlighted the value of the qualitative aspects of an urban landscape. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 54 lapaspusēm. Satur 34 attēlus, 4 pielikumus un 40 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis bija izvērtēt digitalizētās asociētās forijas novērtēšanas metodes pielietojamību. Pētījumā piedalījās 40 dalībnieki vecumā 19-28 gadi. Darbā tika analizēti un salīdzināti asociētās forijas mērījumi, iegūtie ar dažādiem testiem – digitalizētiem un drukātiem. Pētījumā tika noteikts, ka Hoya EyeGenius Mallett testa rezultāti ir salīdzināmi ar STOP testa rezultātiem, bet ir atšķirīgi no Hoya EyeGenius aprēķina metodes testa un Wesson kartes.

The paper introduces the splendid representations of Emperor Constantine the Great and Saint Helena in Jan Kuben’s frescos in the church under invocation of the Triumph of the Cross in Brzeg. They testify strongly of the incessant presence of the creative reflection over the Christian ancient times in the area of Opole Silesia in the period of the Catholic reform in the 18th century. Kuben’s trompe-l’oeil constitutes a wonderful combination of deeply experienced Catholic spirituality with the genius of the artist – a visionary.

The paper focuses on Du Bos’ contribution to the birth of aesthetics. Du Bos elaborates – in an anticlassicistical tone – three central notions: 1) that of “artificial passion”, 2) of the taste of “the public” (which is in turn linked to a peculiar conception of “feeling”) and 3) of “artistic genius”. Do the Mega and Titan Tests Yield Accurate Results? An Investigation into Two Experimental Intelligence Tests

The Mega and Titan Tests were designed by Ronald K. Hoeflin to make fine distinctions in the intellectual stratosphere. The Mega Test purported to measure above-average adult IQ up to and including scores with a rarity of one in a million of the general population. The Titan Test was billed as being even more difficult than the Mega Test. In this article, these claims are subjected to scrutiny. Both tests are renormed using the normal curve of distribution. It is found that the Mega Test has a higher ceiling and a lower floor than the Titan Test. While the Mega Test may thus seem preferable as a psychometric instrument, it is somewhat marred by a number of easy items in its verbal section. …
