Los géneros discursivos y las secuencias didácticas: el lugar de los ejemplos prototípicos en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de la escritura
2018
[EN] From a social perspective, the aim of writing teaching is for students to be able to understand and write a great diversity of discursive genres, allowing them to behave as reflexive and critical citizens in different social spheres. In the process of mastery of each genre, the mental representation of the text is key, which acts as a regulating element of writing in different phases. This article shows the difficulties of the students to appropriate a specific genre (a book review), based on the data of a classroom research with students of 3rd ESO that addresses the writing of reviews through a didactic sequence including, as a regulatory element, prototypical examples of the genre. …

Rethinking Political Representation from the Perspective of Rhetorical Genres
2019
This article is a thought experiment. It constructs ideal types of political representation in the sense of Max Weber. Inspired by Quentin Skinner and others, the aim is to give a rhetorical turn to contemporary debates on representation. The core idea is to claim an ‘elective affinity’ (Wahlverwandschaft, as Weber says following Goethe) between forms of representation and rhetorical genres of their justification. The four ideal types of political representation are designated as plebiscitary, diplomatic, advocatory, and parliamentary, corresponding to the epideictic, negotiating, forensic, and deliberative genres of rhetoric as the respective ways to plausibly appeal to the audience. Le mélodrame ou le rapt de l’Histoire. El secreto de sus ojos (Juan José Campanella, 2009)
2017
This text offers to analyse Juan José Campanella’s picture El secreto de sus ojos (2009) connecting it with its coherence or distance in respect to traditional codes of melodrama. The male and sometimes ironic focus on pathetic possibilities seems to present it as an inverted melodrama. The love story seems to be pushed into the background by the investigation of a criminal case in pre-dictatorial context, whereas in actual fact, the three levels of the synopsis intertwine to build the framework’s logic. Regarding the Hollywood remake of the picture will allow us to evaluate the relationship of each one with the national imaginative world, History and the concept of justice. Through this re…
