The increasing prevalence of complex chronic diseases in the population over 65 years of age is causing a major impact on health systems. This study aims to explore the needs and preferences of the multimorbid patient and carers to improve the palliative care received. The perspective of professionals who work with this profile of patients was also taken into account. A qualitative study was conducted using semi-structured interviews with open-ended questions. Relationship between the risk of falling and prescribed medication in community-dwelling elderly subjects.

Abstract Introduction: The risk of falling increases with age. A third of the population over 65 has one or more falls per year. Objetive: to know the relationship between drug prescription and falls in the elderly. Materials and Methods: a study was carried out through a community intervention in individuals ≥ 70 years of age. Results: The sample was composed of 249 participants, 160 women (64%), with a mean age of 74.47 years (SD 5.33). During the 12 months prior to the study, the mean of falls per person was 0.5 (SD 0.94), the mean of the risk factors was 2.73 (SD 1.4) and the mean of the medication prescribed was 4.2 (SD 3.0). Znaczenie rehabilitacji w ocenie poziomu sprawności i wydolności tlenowej pensjonariuszek Domów Pomocy Społecznej

Cel pracy. Celem prac była ocena wpływu stosowanej rehabilitacji u pensjonariuszek Domu Pomocy Społecznej na poziom sprawności i wydolności aerobowej. Materiał i metodyka. Przebadano 17 kobiet uczęszczających i 13 nieuczęszczających na zajęcia rehabilitacji. Przedział wieku badanych wynosił 80-84 lata. Do oceny wykorzystano test SPPB oraz 6-minutowy test marszu. Wyniki. Wszystkie badane cechy służące do oceny poziomu sprawności wydolności aerobowej różnią się istotnie między dwiema badanymi grupami.
