Durch ihre Eigenschaft, bestimmte Stufen bei der Bildung radioaktiv markierten Aldosterons aus14C-Progesteron bzw.3H-11-Desoxycorticosteron zu hemmen, erwiesen sich 11-Desoxycorticosteron, Corticosteron und 18-Hydroxycorticosteron als wesentliche Zwischenstufen der Aldosteronbiosynthese. 18-Hydroxy-11-desoxycorticosteron hingegen scheint an der Bildung von Aldosteron nicht beteiligt zu sein.

New derivatives of progesterone and aldosterone were synthesized and functionally tested with commercially available antibodies. The covalent labelling of antibodies specific for aldosterone and progesterone was detected by SDS/PAGE analysis and subsequent autoradiography after using 3-(O-carboxymethyl)-oximino-(3-[125I]iodo-4-azidosalicylamidobu tylamine) derivatives of aldosterone and progesterone, respectively, as photoactivatable radioligands. Labelling was not observed in the presence of an excess of the unlabelled steroid. Aldosterone was labelled with biotin and used as a tracer in a time-resolved fluorescence immunoassay. Summary The biological model of the selective induction of RNA synthesis in oviducts of estrogen stimulated immature quails by progesterone has been used to clarify whether poly (ADP-Rib) is involved in DNA transcription. Abstract Purpose: We studied the expression levels of cyclins B1, D1, and E1 and the implications of cyclin overexpression for patient outcomes in distinct breast cancer subtypes defined by clinical variables and transcriptional profiling. Experimental Design: The expression levels of cyclins B1, D1, and E1 were quantified in 779 breast tumors and 53 cell lines using reverse phase protein arrays and/or transcriptional profiling.
